When I was driving around today, I came across a Roggow Roofing sign, and it reminded me how much I enjoyed getting to work on their branding!

When they came to me, the owner made a couple of things very clear.

One, he wanted a great "RR" symbol that would embroider well and look cool enough that his crew, friends, and family would be proud to sport it.

Two, he didn’t want it to be just another “roofing” logo. No hammers. No houses. No roofline sitting on top of a name. (Fortunately, I’m not a big fan of overused industry symbols either!) We still wanted the mark to feel appropriate for a roofing company, but in a way that was subtle, tasteful, and uniquely theirs.

During our discovery meeting, we also landed on something important: this brand needed to sit somewhere between modern and legacy.

The roofing industry is full of companies that roll into town after a hailstorm, put on as many roofs as possible, as fast as possible, and then move on. Roggow Roofing, on the other hand, is a reimagining of a company that has served our community for decades.

The goal was to create something that felt fresh enough for a new chapter while still carrying the weight and character of that history.

I think it turned out wonderfully, and thankfully, the owner does too!

“I knew what I wanted in a logo and branding for my business, but didn't know how to convey that in art. Riley was able to draw from our conversations to build out the exact image I had hoped for all along. His consideration of my personality, values, and goals all made its way into the design. Friendly Creative was exactly what my business needed!” - Camden Roggow, Roggow Roofing

Thank you, Roggow Roofing, for choosing Friendly Creative to help set you up for a great next chapter!

A big-time THANK YOU to Autry Technology Center for hosting Level Up: Expert Panels for Entrepreneurs!

It was an honor to be a panelist in one of the three wonderful discussions and to share the stage with so many great entrepreneurs from our community. I had a great time talking entrepreneurship, sharing experiences, and learning from everyone else in the room.

If you are an entrepreneur I would highly recommend attending next year! ✨

What an honor it was to work on this project and get to know the Mackie Family along the way. There's something genuinely thrilling about being trusted with a family's legacy, capturing it in a mark that feels meaningful, but also looks great anywhere it is used.

Client Testimonial:
"My family sought a professional creative to expand the marketable horizons of our family charitable trust. Working with Riley was just not a joy, he took our original ideas and broadened them beyond our expectations. The end result was a timeless product which we can use and build upon for decades."
— Steven Mackie, Mackie Family Charitable Trust

A little bit about this project:

A few months ago, the Mackie Family reached out about getting a logo made. After decades of giving quietly, they'd started taking on causes that requested one.

They came in with a decent idea of what they were looking for. But I always start every project with a discovery meeting. It's the only way I know I'm designing the best solution for my clients, and it gets us on the same page before a single sketch happens.

These meetings are my favorite part of being a designer beyond seeing my designs in the wild. I learned about the family's roots in Ames, Oklahoma, and their affection for the Ames Astrobleme. More than that, I learned how they think about giving: quietly, without needing credit, but in ways that shape a community for years. The astrobleme, a crater buried and mostly invisible from the surface, turned out to be a strikingly fitting symbol for that.

From there, I landed on three directions to bring back: two brand-new concepts, and a more developed take on their original idea.

When the family sat with the concepts, they gravitated toward the astrobleme version. It wasn't something they'd have landed on themselves, but they liked it more than they even imagined. What stuck with them most was knowing how much thought went into making their legacy something they could carry forward for generations.

Hello friends! 👋

If you need some fresh branding, web design, or graphic design, or just want help figuring out what you actually need, I'd love to chat!

This year I've been really fortunate to work on some of the most rewarding projects of my 12 year career. For the first time in a long time though, I've got a little room to take on work outside my beloved referrals.

Just send me a message if you have questions or want to get a meeting on the books!

I’m a little late to the party, but I had the best time at the Impact Enid Nonprofit Summit and was honored to help bring it to life! ✨

I was asked to help with the naming, branding, design, and collateral for this event, and from the very beginning I knew I wanted everything to feel impactful, brave, and clear.

Over the past 12 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many of the organizations in the room. Helping organizations and businesses connect with their communities is the reason I do this work, and getting to help a great organization connect with other great organizations felt like a uniquely meaningful opportunity.

Grateful to have played a part in something that brought so many amazing people together, all doing meaningful work to support our community.

Thank you Park Avenue Thrift and all of the sponsors for the good you do in Enid and beyond!
