The U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force held the U.S. Navy-JMSDF Strategic Dialogue at the Pentagon, continuing the two navies' long-standing work to strengthen maritime cooperation, interoperability, and readiness. Vice Adm. Yvette Davids, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Intelligence, Operations, Strategy, and Force Development, and Rear Adm. Toshiyuki Hirata, JMSDF Director General, Operations and Plans Department, met with U.S. and JMSDF leaders to discuss shared maritime priorities and operational coordination across the Indo-Pacific. The U.S.-Japan alliance remains a cornerstone of peace and stability in the region, and the U.S. Navy-JMSDF partnership continues to strengthen deterrence and readiness at sea.
