The cutter crew of USCGC Stone (WMSL 758) and precision aircrews of the Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON), along with the Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center (MIFC) Atlantic, were formally recognized at the White House Eisenhower Executive Office Building during the United States Interdiction Coordinator Awards Ceremony. Presided over by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, both units received the prestigious Maritime Interdiction Award for extraordinary operational excellence. The honor specifically highlights decisive counter-drug actions on the high seas, where MIFC LANT coordination aided HITRON tactical marksmen to disable four fleeing drug vessels and USCGC STONE’s boarding teams interdicted 4,936 kilograms of co***ne bound for American shores. These frontline maritime victories directly support the national strategy to dismantle transnational criminal cartels, defend America’s maritime borders, and protect our communities.
