Today in the studio... 🦬🎨

Today I started painting multiples for my 30 Buffalo in 30 Days project, experimenting with collaged sheet music, Rocky Mountain National Park maps, and some fun new color combinations.

And can we talk about that teal background?! 🩵 I am obsessed! Well, and the lavender and I still love the pink one from yesterday!

I'm having so much fun seeing how each color combination gives these little buffalo their own personality.

Which color combo is your favorite so far? Tell me in the comments! 👇🦬✨

30 Buffalo in 30 Days 🦬

Welcome to 30 Buffalo in 30 Days.

For the next month, I’ll be painting one small buffalo every day, creating 30 original paintings inspired by strength, courage, hope, and the idea of facing life's storms.

Today’s buffalo is painted in the colors that speak to me. I love this deep rust for the buffalo combined with the pink background. I collaged some sheet music papers and bits of a map from Rocky Mountain National Park within the body of the buffalo just because I love music and the park.

Today I’m going to work on painting several buffalo at a time. Stay tuned to see how that goes!

And if you have ideas of what you might like to see on one of these small paintings, comment below! Your idea might inspire tomorrow’s painting!

I’m doing something a little wild this September... 🦬

For the next 30 days, I’m challenging myself to paint 30 Buffalo in 30 Days.

Every day in September, I’ll create a new original 5" x 7" buffalo painting, inspired by my Be the Buffalo collection and the idea of finding the courage to keep moving forward, even when life gets hard.

The buffalo has become such a meaningful symbol in my work.

There is something powerful about the idea of facing the storm instead of running from it. Of continuing forward. Of finding strength when the path ahead feels difficult.

And I want YOU to be part of this project.

Over the next 30 days, I’ll be asking for your ideas:

🦬 What would you love to see in a buffalo painting?

🦬 What colors inspire you?

🦬 What words or messages do you need to hear right now?

🦬 What would you give someone who is going through a difficult season?

At the end of September, all 30 original paintings will be available for purchase.

Of course, you can buy one for yourself. ❤️ But I also love the idea of these little paintings finding their way to someone who might need a reminder of their own strength.

Someone facing a storm.

Someone going through something hard.

Someone who needs a little encouragement to keep going.

Follow along this month and help me create 30 Buffalo in 30 Days. 🦬✨

Friends. I had THE BEST TIME last night! ✨

I had the pleasure of painting LIVE at the Grand Opening party at Hotel Longmont, and what a night! Gorgeous hotel, lovely people, delicious food, a rockin’ band… and live art! 🎨

I had so much fun painting and chatting with guests and community members. There’s something really special about creating art in the middle of a celebration and getting to connect with people as they experience it.

If you’re on the Front Range, you must visit Hotel Longmont! They’ve intentionally sought out local artists and purveyors, and the hospitality is top-notch. ❤️

And when you visit, you can still see some of my work throughout the hotel- my Great Blue Heron paintings on the first and fifth floors, and my Firehorse inside the beautiful rooftop restaurant, Longmont Supply.

Huge thank you to Hotel Longmont for having me and for supporting local artists! I’m so happy to be part of this beautiful space. 🥂🎨

Last week I had the joy of teaching a Reductive Painting Workshop for the wonderful art teachers of St. Vrain Valley Schools! 🎨

We explored layered, reductive painting and sgraffito techniques, and I had such a great time creating alongside these talented teachers. I always love spending time with art people! ❤️

And a special full-circle moment: last year I taught a window painting workshop for the art teachers, and this year I got to see window painting on the art classroom windows! Seeing the techniques being used in their classrooms made my heart so happy.

Thank you, St. Vrain Valley Schools, for having me back! Wishing all of the teachers and students an amazing, creative school year! ✨

There is something so special about packing up the very first orders from a new collection and imagining where these little birds are headed.

Thank you to everyone who has already ordered and supported my work. Every purchase from an independent artist truly means so much. đź’›

The Bird by Bird card sets feature four different native Colorado birds from my original paintings. They're 5" x 5", blank inside, and perfect for thank you notes, birthdays, thinking of you, or a thoughtful hostess gift.

I am absolutely honored to be part of the new art collection at the The Colorado Health Foundation ! ✨

It was such a pleasure to collaborate with NINE dot ARTS on this project, and I’m over the moon to finally share the finished mural.

Nine Dot Arts invited me to create a “Greetings from Colorado” postcard-style mural for the Colorado Health Foundation’s main conference room in Denver.

The goal was to create an iconic piece that celebrates the many landscapes, communities, and stories that make Colorado home. We collaborated closely to represent agricultural communities, mountain towns, historic areas, the Eastern Plains, and our capital city.

The iconic Maroon Bells represent Colorado’s breathtaking mountain ranges, while the Columbine, our state flower, adds another distinctly Colorado touch.

The finished mural was digitally printed and installed as part of an incredible collection of artwork by local Colorado artists.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to tour the new collection and meet the Colorado Health Foundation Board, the Nine Dot Arts team, and many of the talented artists included in the collection. Seeing the work together in this beautiful space was incredibly special.

A huge thank you to Nine Dot Arts and the Colorado Health Foundation for supporting local artists and celebrating the creative spirit of Colorado. I am truly honored to have my work included in your collection.❤️
