This is exactly why we do what we do.
Three guys drove from Georgia to break into a home in South Florida this weekend. They smashed windows, trying to force their way in.
The alarm system triggered immediately — and that's what got Pinecrest Police Department dispatched. Officers were already rolling before anyone even looked at a camera. The homeowner was able to pull up her cameras after the fact and watch what was happening, but by that point police were already on the way. All three suspects caught within minutes. One crashed the getaway car. Another ended up in a canal.
The police chief said it himself — the alarm is what scared them off the property.
The cameras showed what happened. The alarm system is what stopped it. That's a critical difference most people don't think about until it's too late.

Earlier today, three individuals from out of state were apprehended after attempting to break into a house. They fled from responding officers who arrived within minutes. With the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office and Coral Gables Police, the suspects were swiftly contained and apprehended. One subject was located by a MDSO K9, while another was captured by Pinecrest and Gables officers. The third suspect was apprehended by a Pinecrest supervisor as he attempted to run from the perimeter.
This incident serves as a stark reminder that Pinecrest will not tolerate criminal activity.
It also highlights the effectiveness of basic crime prevention measures. By locking their cars, setting their house alarms, and promptly reporting suspicious activity, residents played a crucial role. As a result, the burglars were apprehended and left with nothing but handcuffs and a room at the county jail. # # Something, Say Something…….
