This makes me so angry!! If you have a website, or just a domain and receive a renewal notice from this company, please tear it up! This is an invoice for almost $300 for domain name renewal. Too bad I know better. I know many out there don't, though. Domain name renewals are usually between $15 and $30 max. This is not web hosting. Just the cost of the domain. These companies send out a bill for $300. People pay it, thinking its legit. That would be a net $285 profit, if they paid the renewal. Almost all domain renewals are setup for autopay on a cc. So folks don't even realize they were ripped off. Few internet service providers like domain name and web hosting companies send paper invoices. I'm sending this invoice back to them with some choice words written on it. I don't think it will change their dishonest ways, but it made me feel better to get it out of my system!

ATTENTION SCAM ALERT!! Watch out for fake messages on your devices. This screenshot was taken on an iPad!!

This malware is known as phishing -"they" phish for your personal data, and they usually have many different angles and methods to try and get it. The message will vary, and the websites and phone numbers might be different than what is shown in this picture. No matter, the end result is the same, If you take the bait and call the number, they will get your credit card information, at least. And will usually try to get as much personal and financial information as they can. They will steal your money and/or your identity!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL and don't fall for it!!

I checked out the website listed at the top. Right now it looks like a tech support company. It looks like it could be real. A short time ago, when this first happened, I checked and google said the site was a ratings site - a place to report fraudulent websites and tech support and give good ratings for good service. They constantly change the story to try and get the highest return on their investment.

I always see people post that they cannot copy/paste anything... but it is so simple to do, you just need someone to tell you how!!

To copy something, take your mouse and click and drag to highlight the text you want to select.(or click the picture so it is highlighted).

An easier way for some is to use the keyboard to help select...click the first word, hold down the shift key then click the last word you want to select.(Everything from the first word to the last should be highlighted)

Next, either right click and select copy from the menu (or use the keys Ctrl + C), then click where you want to put the text and right click, select paste (or use the keys Ctrl + V). Viola!! This works with any Windows computer in almost every program made to run on Windows. (The steps would be similar on a Mac, but probably slightly different.)

Now you can copy and paste all the things someone posts and tells you to copy/paste!! You are welcome! Contact me if you need me to explain it in another way.

If you are on a phone, the process is very similar as well!

I just gave new life to an older laptop... bogged down by CA Internet Suite. Couldn't do anything. Replaced it with Vipre Premium and the owner can compute again!
