I have a theory that if we placed a laser of this magnitude on a satellite in a geosynchronous orbit in outer space near the Equator of the Earth and multiplexed digital data onto the laser light and then directed that laser at the Sun, then the light from the Sun would act as a carrier of the digital data and transport the data back to the Earth along with the sunlight, and perhaps across the entire solar system and beyond to other stars as well.
