NFC stands for Near-Field Communication, a short-range wireless technology that allows devices (like smartphones, tags, or payment terminals) to exchange data or make payments by bringing them within a few centimeters of each other. It powers contactless systems, offering a secure, low-power alternative to Bluetooth, often called "tap-to-pay".

What is a nerd?

Probably one of the first and most easiest question for a true nerd.

A. Am I accurate in this statement?

B. Is this question uniquely true?

C. Get some sleep or go back to work...maybe throw out the drawing board for the sake of preventing any more trips to the looney bin.

D. None of the above

E. You neglected a period on the fourth multiple choice and this post is benign.

Yes. Pick a myriad of heating solutions. Get really creative.

One method I have frequently enjoyed is when a problem is exposed, rather than retrieving typical tool or continue on normal methodology. I play "I Spy".

Meaning, I Spy for something, for the solution within reach and see if it's possible.

This time I just reached for nothing I just bent over and pushed a button on a heater maybe tilted a little bit versus having special tools in a shop that we had in the past simply getting or harnessing a form of heat to a right temperature to loosen the adhesion and then literally using a SIM card that actually cost $10 when typically they're free.

I personally use the SIM card to exit my frustration about a $10 SIM card when free was the typical process. ;)

That's turning up a negative situation into a positive one, coupled with a little resource saving innovation.

How do I connect this to this?
Want to hook my EV charger to this outlet, preferably with a properly-rated extension cord. Can’t figure out which adapters I need. Outlet seems to be 240v, charger is rated at 240v, 16a.

When the button seems to not work...

It might be internal, just avoid that button ✅ don't fiddle with it, look paaast it.

It also might be a hiccup and indeed it may just simply be...spring cleaning during May for your typical maintenance and routine cleaning...
..ladies and gentlemen, to then confidently & autonomously (internally?!) prevent various things like conveyor belts or your home computer or your scooter or maybe your buzz light year from needing a "tech guy' ...and re buzz light yr...that you have taken possession of because you like it more than your own child does.

We'll edit this later. Be gud. ...Lastly:

Does a truss of a bridge ask another truss of the same bridge, Do ya trust me?- Dave Garcia quote (after this actual question to another good friend they were literally drawing a bridge I believe the day before maybe when I was actually posting the original question on Facebook)

The technical term for a cell phone charging block is a power adapter, AC adapter, or USB power adapter.

It acts as a converter that transforms high-voltage AC power from a wall outlet into low-voltage DC power suitable for the device.

Other common, less technical terms include:
+Charging brick
+Wall charger/adapter
+Power brick
+Cube

The primary function of this component is to regulate the voltage and current, transforming energy from the outlet into a safe, usable charge for the phone's battery.

A nice definition from on the act of Soldering:

Soldering = joining materials (usually metals) by
melting a filler metal that flows into the joint and bonds surfaces without melting the base materials.

More precise:

Process: Thermal joining

Mechanism: Capillary action + metallurgical bonding
Filler metal melting point: ~180–230 °C (typical electronic solder)

Base metal: Remains solid

Result: Electrical + mechanical connection

Short equation-style definition:
Soldering = heat + flux + molten filler metal → bonded joint (base metals unmelted).

RX1 Lampe – Simple One-Tube Reaction Receiver 🛠️📻

The RX1 Lampe is a DIY radio receiver built around a single vacuum tube (a “lampe”), designed for beginners and hobbyists interested in classic radio electronics. In this project, the radio uses a reaction (regenerative) circuit, which amplifies and detects radio signals with very few components, making it both educational and fun to build. The vacuum tube amplifies the received signal and provides the high voltage necessary to operate the circuit. Instead of a complex power supply, multiple 9 V batteries can be connected in series to generate around 63 V for the tube’s anode, a simple and accessible solution for home construction.

This type of receiver lets you explore medium wave (MW) broadcast bands and possibly shortwave signals depending on the coil and tuning used. It’s a great project for gaining hands-on experience with tube technology and understanding how early radios worked before transistors became widely accepted.
