🎉 BIG NEWS! BIG GRATITUDE! BIG COMMUNITY IMPACT! 🧡

We are thrilled to announce that NextStep has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Shelton H. and Mary I. Duff Fund of Oregon Community Foundation!

This generous investment will help us expand workforce training, strengthen digital skills, and increase access to technology for individuals facing barriers to employment and education.

At NextStep, we believe everyone deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, regardless of the challenges they face.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Shelton H. and Mary I. Duff Fund and Oregon Community Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in the people we serve.

Support like this does more than fund programs. It opens doors, creates opportunities, and helps change lives right here in our community.

🧡 Together, we’re turning technology into opportunity and opportunity into brighter futures!

✨ YOUR OLD HOLIDAY LIGHTS CAN GIVE HOPE. ✨
The holidays are upon us — which means the lights are coming out! 🎄💡

As you untangle those boxes, replace old strands, change colors, or discover the dreaded half-the-string-doesn’t-work situation… DON’T THROW THEM AWAY!

Bring them to NextStep!

We collect string lights of ALL kinds, working or not:

🎄 Christmas lights
🎃 Halloween lights
✨ Fairy lights
🤍 White or colored lights
🔌 Plug-in or battery-operated string lights

Each year, NextStep chooses a local nonprofit to benefit from our holiday light recycling campaign. We recover valuable materials from donated lights, and all proceeds go directly to that organization.

💚 This year, we’re giving HOPE to The Hope Project with their Executive Director, Ken Brown!

We’ve already broken records, and we’re not finished yet!

As you decorate, upgrade, or clean out those holiday bins, bring your old lights to:

📍 NextStep Donation Center, M-F, 8:30-5:00
245 Jackson Street
Eugene, OR 97402

♻️ Keep lights out of the landfill.
💚 Support a local nonprofit.
✨ Give a little more HOPE.

We’re better together. We’re building community — one string of lights at a time.

NextStep’s Donation Center and the NextStep ReUse Store will be closed Monday, October 12th.

NextStep’s locations will both reopen on Tuesday, October 13th, for normal business hours.

Thank you. NextStep Recycling

NextStep was incredibly proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of Pink Spotlight: Karaoke for a Cause — and WOW, did this community take it to the NEXTLEVEL!
We sang. We danced. We laughed. We cried. And then we laughed some more. 💗

And in the words of Micki Waters of Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza:
🎶 “This event hit every high note.” 🎶

We couldn’t have said it better.

The Pink Spotlight was everything we hoped it would be — fun, heartfelt, a little ridiculous in the very best way, and filled with people coming together for something much bigger than one night.

A huge thank you to Rodger Deevers, every sponsor, singer, volunteer, judge and person who showed up and helped make the Pink Spotlight shine!

And because apparently one pink event wasn’t enough for one weekend… 😏💗

NextStep kept the momentum going by sponsoring and participating in Matt McCarl’s Men Wear Pink 5K Walk/Run the very next day!

🎀 One weekend. A whole lot of PINK. One community showing up BIG.

And we’re just getting started.

Stay tuned for more PINK happenings — and all the ways NextStep is bringing our community together and taking it to the NEXTLEVEL! 💗♻️

What a wonderful evening celebrating Business After Hours with the Springfield Chamber at Relief Nursery on Tuesday! 💚

If you’ve never had the opportunity to visit Relief Nursery or learn about the work they do, you should. This place is AMAZING.

They provide critical support to children and families—creating safe, nurturing spaces, strengthening families, and helping parents get the support and resources they need to thrive.

And their Springfield location? WOW. Beautiful, welcoming, thoughtfully designed, and clearly built around the families they serve.

At NextStep, we believe strong communities happen when people have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need. Relief Nursery is doing exactly that kind of work every single day.

If you’re not familiar with their programs, take a few minutes and learn about them.

They matter. Their work matters. And our community is better because they’re here. 💚

Thank you, Relief Nursery, for opening your doors and giving us the opportunity to see your incredible work firsthand!
