New brand reveal for Posey County !!
We’re so excited to share the new brand project that’s been in the works for the past several months for my home county! It’s the coziest corner of Indiana, and it has a lot to offer, including the uniquely quaint, artsy, historic New Harmony with charm and landmarks like no other in Southern Indiana, the many outdoor escapes like Harmonie State Park and Hovey Lake, and Mt. Vernon’s gorgeous, newly upgraded riverfront.
Posey County is a cozy, welcoming place to slow down, explore and feel at ease. The visual vibes we were after were Indiana Americana folk art, rustic, and rooted in small-town charm, expressing a sense of warmth, care, and intentional slowness. Most of the early settlers to the county were German, so we drew inspiration from Germanic folk art. We were drawing from analog, handmade traditions to evoke a lived-in quality. Overall, the vibe balances historic and artsy with outdoorsy and relaxed.
We had a lot of fun building out a full rebrand including a responsive logo suite, backgrounds and textures, a hand-drawn icon set, brand guide, and custom website.
Illustrative nuggets of Posey County in the logo:
• Germanic Folk Flora based on the settlers of the county
• The Posey County Courthouse
• The Roofless Church
• Geraniums
• The Say’s Firefly
• Mt. Vernon River Front steps
• Historic marker border shape
In the brand identifiers, we included the folk flora, the Say’s firefly, and 2 river waves, representing the Wabash and the Ohio, since Posey county is where those 2 rivers meet.
You can see all the elements come together in the newly launched Visit Posey County website. Check in out here!
My collaborators on this project were Scott Wambach and Sprout intern Morgan Howard

A huge shout out to Kari Lynn Mobley leading the charge at Visit Posey County. She's one of the very best clients to collaborate with.
