We were proud to see Lauren Runco Bevilacqua representing SOLID this week as a panelist at the Jobs for the Future (JFF) Horizons Summit, joining Katie Belous (Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity), Sytease Geib ( The Manufacturing Institute), and Meena Naik (JFF) for a discussion on improving learner and worker mobility through more connected, skills-based systems.

The session explored an important question: What happens when learning and employment records don't keep up with people's skills and experiences? Through the perspectives of a veteran, a community college student, and a frontline worker, the panel examined practical ways to better recognize learning wherever it happens and connect people to opportunity.

These conversations are at the heart of the work we're doing every day. The challenge isn't simply collecting more information—it's ensuring people's skills are recognized in ways that are trusted, portable, and actionable across education and employment.

At SOLID, we're helping advance this work through initiatives like Map My Future®, making military-acquired skills more visible, verifiable, and connected to meaningful career pathways.
