People got angry about Claude’s new watermark this week. They got angry at the mark.

That’s the wrong thing. Nobody can even detect it yet. No public detector. No published scheme. Anyone trying to hide AI writing will just rewrite the paragraph.

The right thing is a government nobody here voted for, on another continent, impacting our flows. The marking is on worldwide, in every Claude product, with no switch. Compliance is cheaper when you only build it once.

It hit the feed the way these things do now — infinite scroll of rage posts on X. Why is the feed like this today?

Keep your options open. Options are cheap. Getting stuck is expensive.

Treat documentation as a pipeline output that ships with the code, not a chore that waits for Friday.

AI can propose all day. A person still has to decide what ships. Staff that step deliberately.

Ask what the client's team needs to support after you leave. Do it before the build starts, not after.

Approval on a spec is not the same as discovery. If nobody reacted to something concrete, the assumptions are still untested.

Before you approve a custom build, require a written reason the cheaper tiers can't solve it.

No documented gap, no escalation. That's where most custom-code overspend hides.
