What a joy to facilitate the CommUNITY Art Event at Cal Maritime Academy this weekend! 🎨✨

Staff, faculty, and students came together to paint individual canvases that will form a large collaborative art installation for their campus — a vibrant reminder that every voice and vision contributes to the bigger picture. 🌊🧭

So much creativity, laughter, and connection in one room. Thank you, Cal Maritime, for inviting me to be part of this meaningful project! 💙

Four and a half years ago, I was the new girl in town with my camera in hand, chasing light, and hoping people would let me capture their stories.

This week, I found out I was voted 2nd Place – Best Photographer/Videographer in the 2025 Best of Fairfield-Suisun Awards. 🖤

Fairfield–Suisun has deep roots and serious creative talent—photographers who’ve been documenting this community for generations. To even be in that conversation after just a few years here is something I’m deeply proud of and means more than I can put into words.

I’m proud. Grateful. And excited for what’s next.

🎨🛳️ Community Paint Party at CSU Cal Maritime Academy
I had the joy of facilitating a creative Paint Party during Parent Weekend, inspired by the murals aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear and Cal Maritime’s legacy vessels — from the Golden State to Golden Bear I, II, and III.

Families, students, and visitors came together to celebrate the Academy’s maritime history through art — each canvas telling its own ocean story.

Thank you to everyone who joined in to make the day colorful, joyful, and full of community spirit! 💙✨
