🚨 SCAM ALERT: Don’t Reply to That Random “How Are You?” Text! 🚨

Have you received a text from an unknown number that simply says something like:

📱 “Hi, how are you doing?”
📱 “Hey! How have you been?”
📱 “Are you still free for dinner?”

It may seem harmless—or like someone simply has the wrong number—but it can be the beginning of a **“wrong number” text scam**.

Scammers use friendly, casual messages hoping you’ll respond. Even replying with “Who is this?” confirms that your number is active and can open the door to more spam or attempts to build a conversation designed to eventually scam you.

🛑 If you receive a suspicious text from an unknown number:

• Don’t reply — even to tell them they have the wrong number.
• Block the number.
• Use your phone’s Report Junk or Report Spam option.
• Forward suspicious texts to 7726 (SPAM) to report them to your wireless carrier.
• Delete the message.

Remember: You don’t owe an unknown number a response. If you don’t recognize the sender, be suspicious before you engage.
