This is why it is important to hire licensed contractors.
As a contractor we pay yearly to keep our bond, license and insurance up to date to ensure we protect our clients.

Luckily we have the California Contractors State License board out here catching these guys and keeping them out of our homes.

A lot of homeowners are not aware that If you have a contractor come into your home that isn’t licensed and something goes wrong, you as the homeowner are responsible for any damages caused. Whether it is the "laborers” medical bills or damages made by person on your property.

If you want to see if a company is licensed before hiring them, simply ask them for there License number or head over to
CSLB.CA.gov

And it will give you a few different options on how to check it.
