Interesting Insight: For 74% of home health industry professionals, "Patient Satisfaction" takes the lead as the first thing that comes to mind when hearing HCAHPS. This insight is based on a recent survey.

The terms "patient satisfaction" and "patient experience" are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

If you unpack the survey questions that impact an agency's VBP Total Performance Score, you'll find that 16 out of the 19 questions are actually inquiring about the patients' recollection of an event or the frequency at which the events occurred, while only 3 are directly asking about their satisfaction with an event or care.
