Fayetteville Public Utilities exists to serve our customers with reliable and affordable electricity, water, sewer, natural gas, internet and phone services. Our customers are the most important people at FPU, and we are here to assist with questions and concerns. We value feedback but ask that comments be considerate, constructive and free of profanity. FPU’s social media platforms are monitored

Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. During unexpected events or significant service interruptions, social media outlets are actively updated to keep customers informed. However, customers needing assistance with utility services or reporting an outage, should call (931) 433-1522. Customers can also utilize the free SmartHub app to report an outage or issue. FPU shares updates and information through social media and encourages customers to engage by joining in the conversation. Before responding, correspondents are asked to follow the terms of use, so all participants have a safe and positive experience. The purpose of Fayetteville Public Utilities’ social media platforms is to discuss information related to FPU. Comments are welcome but must comply with FPU’s Terms of Use as well as the platform’s Terms of Service. When posting to FPU’s social media pages, users acknowledge and agree that their content and/or comments do not represent the policies and opinions of Fayetteville Public Utilities. When engaging with FPU’s social media, users agree not to:

POWER RESTORED – FAYETTEVILLE

Fayetteville Public Utilities is pleased to report that power has been restored following this morning’s widespread outage in the Fayetteville area.

FPU crews traced the cause of the outage to a squirrel that came into contact with the 161 kV line at the Hamilton Substation.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while our crews worked quickly to restore service.

If your power is still out, please contact Fayetteville Public Utilities and let us know. We will address any remaining outages on a case-by-case basis.

Thank you again for your patience, and a special thank you to our FPU crews for their quick response and hard work!

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE

Fayetteville Public Utilities is currently experiencing a major power outage after losing service at the Hamilton Substation. The outage is affecting approximately 4,500 customers in the Fayetteville area.

Our crews are actively working to identify and correct the issue. We understand the inconvenience this outage causes and assure you that restoring power as quickly and safely as possible is our top priority.

Fayetteville Public Utilities is pleased to report that power has been fully restored to all customers in the Blanche area.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while our linemen worked early this Sunday morning to safely restore service.

Before heading out to the field this dove season, Fayetteville Public Utilities wants to remind hunters of some important safety tips:

1. Before hunting, identify where power lines, fiber lines and electrical equipment are located on the property, and keep a safe distance from them.

2. Do not place or hang decoys on utility lines or equipment.

3. Don’t shoot at or near utility lines. Remember, hunters are responsible for their shots and any damage caused by them.
