Our savvy designers, copywriters, and developers harmonize our clients’ key messages with elegant designs and powerful technologies. We can augment a brand’s current digital capabilities, or build a stunning ecosystem entirely from scratch. Whether we design a website or intranet, mobile app or VR experience—or anything in between—together we help clients take on tomorrow. We were founded in 1999

by four Rutgers computer scientists in a basement in Somerset, NJ. Today, we’re a team of artists, coders, gamers, sports fans, pet lovers, and musicians in the artist haven of Lambertville, NJ. We’re a tech-driven agency with a big heart—where love is coded pixel by pixel, and “work” and “play” are often the same. During her and her husband's layoff meeting, management kept saying: "This is the hardest thing we've ever done in our career."

And she's sitting there thinking: you just wiped out my household income and this is hard for YOU?

This is a clip from our very first episode of "Why Does It Feel So Wrong to Be Human at Work?" In this episode, our executive producer and editor Bree Bartos reads Pinaki Kathiari and Chris Lee a Reddit post about OP's workplace asking them to train their replacement after OP was laid off as well as shares her own experience getting laid off in April 2025.

Ellen Griley made a point on our podcast this week that reframes almost everything about how we think about internal communications: we write our messages as if the person on the other end will open them with 100% cognitive and emotional capacity.

They won't. Nobody does. They're opening your email in the middle of a hard day, worried about something else, already carrying more than you know.

And when we make that assumption, we skip all the helpful work. We don't meet people where they are. We just send the thing.

ATTN: IC folks… To create win-win-win scenarios, you’ll need everyone on the same page and working toward the same goals or mission that everyone believes in.

That means you’ll need to secure buy-in from leadership and make a business case.

Below are 6 questions to answer as you perfect your pitch:

⚾ “What problem are we solving, and why now?” Frame the urgency and relevance clearly
⚾ “How does this align with our business goals or strategy?” Tie your pitch to the bigger picture.
⚾ “What will success look like and how will we measure it?” Paint a clear picture of outcomes.
⚾ “What are the risks of NOT doing this?” Highlight what’s at stake if you don’t act.
⚾ “What resources will we need?” Show that you’ve thought it through.
⚾ “How can we make this easy to say yes to?” Simplify the path to approval with a compelling ask.

What else should we add to this lineup?

As we close out our values series, we end on a month-long celebration of our value, “Win-Win-Win Scenarios Preferred” -- because life is better when we all win together.

Next time you’re making a big decision, apply the “win-win-win” filter and ask yourself 3 questions:

🤝 Is it a win for you and the team?
📈 Is it a win for the client?
🏢 Is it a win for the business and your community?

Is there a way in which we all thrive? If the answer isn’t “yes” all around, pause and rethink, “Is there anything we can do to make it so that we all ‘win’ together?”

Working within a demanding career, trying to show up fully for her family, and saying yes to everything.

A few years ago, Local Wisdom teammate Kelsey Buckholtz found herself pushing far beyond her limits. She had reached complete exhaustion and knew something had to change.

To close out Mental Health Awareness Month, Kelsey shares with us three transformative lessons about mental health, boundaries, and reclaiming control over one’s life within our newest blog post, “Burnout Isn’t a Badge of Honor: Here’s What Helped Me Heal”.

🔥 If you’ve ever found yourself feeling far beyond burnt out, then this blog may help you find a path through the ashes – read more here: https://buff.ly/2VUn2xT

Today, we pause to honor the courageous individuals who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is not forgotten and their legacy lives on in the freedoms we hold dear. With deep gratitude and respect, we remember them this Memorial Day.

“I’ve got your back” -something often overheard at Local Wisdom

Some people won’t ask for help… but that doesn’t mean they don’t need it. This encourages proactive support.

Here are 4 ways to be a “lighthouse” for your teammates.

💡 Host weekly “Buddy Brainstorms” or “open hang hours” on your calendar – you can tackle a project or simply enjoy water cooler chats.

💡 Share a reminder – it’s as easy as saying, “I’ve got space to brainstorm… any takers?”

💡 Set an example – let others know when you felt stuck and how support helped.

💡 Listen more than you talk – giving space and learning from others is invaluable.

Be visible. Be steady. Be someone’s guiding light!
