Memorial Day is not about the long weekend, the sales, or the cookouts.
It is about the men and women who put on the uniform, went where they were sent, and never came home.
More than one million Americans.
One million empty chairs at one million dinner tables.
Native Americans have served in every major American conflict for more than two centuries and at the highest rates among any other community in this country. Many served before the U.S. recognized them as citizens.
The Code Talkers helped protect and defend this nation using Native languages — languages a country had once tried to silence.
Many of them never came home either.
They had favorite songs and silly jokes. They had families waiting for them. They had plans. And they gave those plans up for us.
At IndigiTech, we remember them with gratitude, humility, and respect.
This Memorial Day, take a moment.
Say their names. Remember why this day exists.
