This is your “oh right, that’s tomorrow” reminder.

Tomorrow at 2 PM ET, we’re talking about one pretty big question: Is the website still the center of the customer journey?

We have thoughts. Our other panelists have thoughts. And we’re guessing you probably do, too.

Come join the conversation on what’s changing across content, UX, search, measurement, and conversion.

There was a time when every brand strategy included a serious conversation about Google+.

The platform introduced useful ideas like Circles for audience grouping and Hangouts for live video. It also benefited from a pretty compelling sales pitch: Google probably mattered to your visibility on Google.

Ultimately, users never adopted it at the scale needed to sustain a major social network, but it gave marketers another chance to learn that strategy should come before account creation.

Did you love it, hate it, or just pretend to understand it? Comment below as we continue 20 trends for 20 years.

Too many websites answer the same basic questions in the same basic ways.
Who we are. What we do. Why choose us. Contact us. Maybe a blog with some “insights.”
Fine. Necessary. Also, not nearly enough.
Your website should be one of the clearest expressions of your expertise, your point of view, your product reality, and your customer understanding.

We’re talking about that in our upcoming virtual panel on the changing role of the website.

QR codes arrived, disappeared into the marketing storage closet, and then made one of the strongest comebacks of the last 20 years.

Early on, they often required a separate app and appeared on everything whether they added value or not.

Then smartphone cameras learned how to scan them, contactless experiences became essential, and suddenly the little black-and-white squares were useful again.

Now they connect physical materials to digital experiences in seconds. Menus, packaging, events, payments, logging into apps, and more all gained a very convenient shortcut.

Sometimes a trend is not wrong. It is simply very early.

The next of our 20 trends for 20 years is coming soon.

Remember when, for a brief, highly competitive moment, checking in at a coffee shop could make you its mayor?

Foursquare turned physical locations into social experiences, giving people points, badges, recommendations, and a reason to broadcast exactly where they were having lunch.

For marketers, it made location data feel playful and immediately useful. Businesses could reward visits, encourage loyalty, and reach people based on where they went.

The badges faded, but the bigger idea stuck: Location could shape the message, the offer, and the moment someone received it.

Did this one deserve the hype? Weigh in below as we count down 20 trends for 20 years.

The arrival of mobile websites forced brands to accept a slightly uncomfortable truth: people were going to visit from tiny screens whether the experience was ready or not.

So businesses built separate mobile sites with simplified navigation, trimmed content, and buttons large enough for human thumbs.

Those early efforts were imperfect, but they changed how marketers thought about access and convenience. The website was no longer tied to a place or device.

The marketing time machine rolls on with 20 trends for 20 years.

Facebook gave brands something the internet had not really offered before: a public space where companies and customers could regularly talk to each other.

That opened the door to community building, real-time feedback, and social customer service.

The platform has changed many times since then, and reach now requires much more strategy, budget, and patience. Still, Facebook Brand Pages helped turn social media from a place brands watched into a place they actively participated.

Follow along with 20 trends for 20 years. We’ve still got several algorithm changes to emotionally process.

We love a good factory tour. Getting an inside look at what makes our clients unique is easily one of the best parts of the job.

A few members of the Liquid Marketing team visited East Penn Manufacturing Co. today to geek out over their process from start to finish. We got to see how the sausage gets made—only with more batteries and much better machinery.

AI search is a bit of a gossip. It hears your side from your website, then turns to reviews, directories, articles, rankings, social profiles, and community discussions to see whether the story holds up.

And as with any good gossip, what everyone else is saying can carry just as much weight as what you say about yourself.

Our latest blog explores why off-page SEO is no longer just about backlinks and how brands can build a stronger presence across the sources shaping AI-generated answers.
