Another recycle haul, another RAM buffet. 😂💾♻️

DDR2, DDR3, DDR4… there’s a little bit of everything in this pile.

Now for the fun part: How many total GB of RAM do you think are in that bin?

No calculator. No pausing the video. 😂 Drop your best guess below! ⬇️

Another recycle haul, another pile of perfectly good technology that deserves a second life. 😎

We’ve been harvesting RAM from the latest batch of recycled computers…and there’s a LOT more here than I expected.

DDR, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4…desktop, laptop and a few interesting sticks mixed in.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with all of it. 👀

See anything in the pile you recognize?

It was supposed to be a simple recycling day at the shop… 😂

Apparently getting the cardboard back IN the box was the hardest part.

At some point you just have to turn it into a sport. 🏀♻️

For some, it was their first computer. For others, it was the machine they learned to program, worked on, played games on—or spent hours troubleshooting.

What’s your best IBM PC memory or story? I want to hear it! 👇

Before Wi-Fi—and before Ethernet was as simple as plugging into a switch—networking could look like this! A tangled collection of BNC connectors, T-connectors, terminators and a couple of baluns. …remember Token Ring?

Who remembers troubleshooting a network where one loose connection could bring down the whole thing? 🐙💻

The back of this __________ PC tells quite a story. Five ISA expansion cards are installed—but can you identify every one just by its connectors? Name them from left to right, and no peeking inside! 👇

This is what computer memory looked like before it became a tiny stick you could install in seconds. Four banks of individual RAM chips—and a few other clues for the sharp-eyed retro-tech experts.

Any guesses what computer you’re looking inside? Don’t check the comments before guessing! 👀💾

A lot of you noticed the missing MFM cables in my last retro PC pic—so Maggie and I went looking. 😂

Here they are on the back of the old Seagate hard drive: the wide 34-pin control cable and the narrower 20-pin data cable. Definitely not as simple as plugging in a modern SATA drive!

Who remembers working with these—and who remembers connecting one backward? 😬

It’s just a fan—it spins and keeps the CPU cool. So why does it need four separate wires? 🤔

Can you name what each one does without looking it up? No cheating—the answer is coming later!
