Happy last week of July! If you’re new here, hi, I’m Victoria. 🩵 A few random facts about me:
— I live in Lakewood, OH just outside of Cleveland, and absolutely love it here.
— I got my degree in Studio Art with a photography concentration, and would spend hours in the darkroom developing my own film. I still have the very first film photo I ever took in 2012. While I was in college, I got a graphic design internship with my school where I made all the posters and t-shirts for our student events. During that internship I realized how much I loved design, and I’ve been a graphic designer ever since.
— Although I don’t consider myself much of a photographer anymore, my father-in-law recently gifted me an old film camera I’ve been carrying everywhere with me. He was a cop for Cleveland Heights and bought a Canon AE-1 in the ‘80s to use for surveillance. It sat untouched in a camera bag until last year, and was in pristine condition.
— I love anything vintage. I’m always thrifting, driving to estate sales and auctions, and shopping local vintage markets (currently eyeing the Vintage in the Valley Market with Serra A.G. | SALT event studio and e l i z a b e t h v i n t a g e this weekend💐). There are a lot of things I’m always looking for but I love collecting vintage dinnerware the most.
— My husband is the biggest foodie I know. When we moved back to Cle (his hometown), he made me (from TX) watch every old Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode filmed here, then took me to each place. We’re really into the food scene and obsess over a good local spot, which is part of what fuels my love for hospitality branding and design and its impact on the customer experience. Our current favorite spots are Cloak & Dagger, Pins & Needles in Mahall’s, and La Ville Lumiėre.
Hope everyone enjoys the last of summer—it went by too fast. If you’re local, I’d love to hear what your favorite dinner/drink spots are, or any recommendations for things to do before the warm weather is gone!
