🎮 1Up Games Needs Your Help! 🎮

We’re trying to track down more of these old school Blockbuster shelving units like the ones pictured in this post. The one pictured is actual 5 units. They were used to store VHS tapes and DVDs in Blockbuster stores back in the day.

As luck would have it they are perfect for storing just about all types of video games from NES cartridges to all disc based games in their cases.

These shelves are a huge part of the behind the scenes workings of 1Up Games as we use them to keep back-stock organized. Now that these are stuffed to the brim we have stacks upon stack of games that desperately need a home to be organized and at the ready. We would absolutely love to add another one (or a few more) if we can find them.

So we’re turning to the 1Up Games community for help!

👉 If you, a friend, a family member, or a business you know might have one of these shelves sitting in storage, a basement, a garage, or an old store space, please let us know.

We would definitely be interested in buying one or possibly even working out a trade.

💬 Tag someone who might know where one is.
🔄 Share this post so we can reach more people.

You guys have helped us track down some amazing things in the past, and we truly appreciate the support from the 1Up Games family.

Thank you for helping us keep the nostalgia alive!

🎮 Collector Question… 🎮

How often do you actually see one of these IRL (in real life) still factory sealed?

We just got something in at 1Up Games that most collectors only ever see in photos…

A factory sealed Nintendo Game Boy Micro – 20th Anniversary Edition. Brand new. Never opened.

For anyone unfamiliar with why this is such a big deal:

The Game Boy Micro launched very late in the Game Boy Advance era and unfortunately sold very poorly when it released. Because of that, Nintendo produced far fewer units than most of their handhelds.

The 20th Anniversary Edition was a special release celebrating Nintendo’s handheld history, making it one of the most desirable versions of the Micro.

Fast forward two decades… most Game Boy Micro systems were opened and played, which means finding one still factory sealed today is incredibly rare.

This is the kind of piece that serious collectors wait years to see in person.

💬 Collectors — have you ever seen one of these still sealed? Excluding of course when they were in stores 20 years ago!

📍 Available now at 1Up Games

Sorry for the delay in posting — it’s been a long, exhausting week. But I’m going to do my best to get back to posting consistently again.

This past weekend David wrapped up his 3rd (and final) District Championship and as a dad I couldn’t be more proud of the work he’s put in all season.

Here’s how he finished in his individual events:

🥇 100 Yard Breaststroke — 1st Place
⏱ 1:01.21 (+0.67)

🥇 400 Yard Individual Medley — 1st Place
⏱ 4:27.16 (dropped 3.53 seconds)

🏅 100 Yard Butterfly — 4th Place
⏱ 55.73 (+1.42)

🥈 200 Yard Individual Medley — 2nd Place
⏱ 2:00.98 (dropped 6.46 seconds)

🥇 200 Yard Breaststroke — 1st Place
⏱ 2:19.31 (+2.46)

Swimming, like most activities, is a sport where the results only tell part of the story. What most people don’t see are the early mornings, the late practices, the endless laps, and the commitment it takes day after day.

I want to congratulate David, his teammates, and every single swimmer who competed at Districts this year. The dedication it takes just to qualify for this meet is an achievement in itself, and every athlete there earned their place.

Next up… the 2026 Pennsylvania State Championship.

Time to get back to work. 💪🏊‍♂️

And for our friends and customers — 1Up Games will be open our normal business hours all weekend! Stop in, say hello, and scoop up some new games while you’re here. 🎮

If you see David around, make sure to wish him luck at States!

Quick update & proud dad moment 💙🏊‍♂️

I owe everyone an apology for this past Sunday. I genuinely thought we were going to be open, but I made a mistake in the schedule.

We ended up being closed because it was the Championship for David’s second team — the C*C Sea Lions — and it turned out to be another amazing day!

David and his teammates kicked things off with the 200-yard medley relay, taking 1st place and bringing home the 🥇 gold.

Next, David swam the 200-yard individual medley, taking 1st place 🥇 gold with a time of 2:01.3, dropping 0.80 seconds in the IM — huge swim.

Then he jumped into the 100-yard backstroke, a stroke he doesn’t normally race, and took 2nd place🥈with a time of 59.21, dropping a full 1 second. Shoutout to his teammate and friend Spencer, who won that race — this kid is an absolute beast in backstroke!

To finish it all off, with event 80, the literal last event of the day, David and his teammates swam the 200-yard freestyle relay, and despite adding .75 seconds to their time, they still managed a 1st place finish 🏅

— one very proud dad over here. 💪

Thanks for your understanding with the closure, and thanks for always supporting our family and the shop.

The month of March is going to be rough with the upcoming YMCA District Championship (his 3rd swim team) the WVW State Championship, the YMCA State Championship and finally the YMCA Nationals.

While David has competed very successfully in several State Championships, this year will be his first appearance at Nationals. However, after all of that, 1Up Games will finally return to our regular business. Thank you for
Your patience.

Oops — quick update from 1Up Games 🎮

I need to apologize for a mistake on my part. I thought we’d be open for our regular business hours today, Sunday, March 1st, but unfortunately we will not be open today.

My son David is a member of three different swim teams, and today is actually the championship meet for his second team. Between schedules and dates, I mixed this one up — that’s on me. Sorry.

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. I’ll be sure to post updates and keep you all in the loop. Thanks for continuing to support the shop and our family.

See you soon 💙

District Championship Update 🏊‍♂️

Yesterday, David swam the 100-yard breaststroke and absolutely delivered.

He dropped an incredible 4.15 seconds, setting a new personal best in one of the fastest races we’ve ever seen at districts. The competition in this event was unreal — 1st place broke the district record, and the pace was so fast that all three top finishers earned national cuts.

David finished 3rd, and while that might not sound flashy at first glance, this was one of those rare races where third place still meant elite speed. His time officially earned him a national cut, qualifying him to compete at the National Championships.

Hard work, consistency, and showing up when it matters most. Couldn’t be more proud.

Congratulations to David, his teammates as well as all the other athletes who made this event so exciting!

On to nationals. 💪🇺🇸

🏅🥈 Just a quick update, 1Up Games family 🏅🥈

Thank you to everyone for your patience while we were closed Friday and Saturday — we were cheering on my son David at his district championship, and it was absolutely worth it!

On Friday, David competed in the 100-yard butterfly, dropping 1.33 seconds from his personal best and earning 2nd place and the silver medal. He finished just behind Abington Heights’ Jason Casper, who set a new district record in the event. An incredible race and a huge performance from David in his only individual event of the day.

He also swam in the 200-yard freestyle relay, where he and his teammates crushed it — dropping 3.5 seconds and taking 1st place, bringing home the gold medal 🥇

We truly appreciate the continued support from this community, both for the shop and for our family.

We will be back to regular hours next week — see you soon in the store! 🎮💙

💙 Family, Commitment, and Quick Store Update 💙

As many of you know, my son David is a competitive swimmer — this weekend he’ll be competing in the 2026 District Championship with his teammates.

No matter where we are in the world — Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Chicago, or right here at home — this guy does NOT miss a practice. Early mornings, long days, travel, jet lag… none of it matters. The work always gets done.

Watching that kind of dedication has been nothing short of inspiring.

Because of his achievement, 1Up Games will be closed tomorrow, Friday February 27, and Saturday, February 28 so we can be there to cheer David and his friends on.

Thank you all for your continued support, understanding, and for being part of our extended 1Up Games family.

We will reopen on Sunday, March 1st from 12pm until 6pm — and we truly appreciate every one of you. 🏊‍♂️💪❤️
