Before he was a product manager, Yacov Gorovoy was a lawyer. He never coded.

When a customer asked for better budget visibility, and engineering was already fully committed, he wrote the plan himself (product requirements plus a technical plan he had AI draft alongside it), got it reviewed by his engineering lead, and shipped the feature end-to-end.

The way Yacov looks at it, the only thing standing in the way of people now is mindset: recognizing that you’re capable of taking on more.

Most finance teams using AI today are using it as a faster way to do things they already knew how to do: Write an email, summarize a document, or take notes from a meeting.

David Fractor, CFO at ImaginAb, draws a sharper line. He recently described a complex Excel model to AI and had a working version with multiple input variables and sensitivity analyses in minutes.

During a software conversion that went sideways, AI helped him reconcile transactions and surface errors that would have taken hours to find manually.

The question he's asking now isn't how to use AI. It's how to ask it better questions. That shift in framing is in his recent post on the Tipalti blog.

AI is no longer a "someday" conversation in finance. It's a "now" conversation.

In his latest piece, Tipalti President Rob Israch shares what he's hearing directly from customers: finance leaders aren't asking whether to adopt AI anymore. They're asking how to build AI-first operations, which processes to rethink first, and what this shift means for their teams' careers.

Rob's take: Finance is high-volume, data-heavy, and governed by strict rules and controls. If AI can succeed there, it can succeed almost anywhere.

What does it actually take to build financial infrastructure for a company scaling globally?

Anthony Latino, Controller at VaynerX, shared his path from seven years at PwC to rebuilding the back office at one of the industry's fastest-growing agencies. Along the way, he offered a candid take on automation: it's not about chasing "real-time" data, it's about defining the right reporting cadence and controls first: https://tipalti.com/blog/audit-experience-controller-career-lessons/?utm_campaign=always-on&utm_content=1786722303&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook

David Fractor, CFO at ImaginAb, has spent seven years building a finance function inside a biotech company, through a sudden shift to remote work, international expansion, and now the shift AI is bringing to finance.

In a new piece, he shares why automating AP was one of the most important decisions his team made during COVID, why understanding clinical trial design became essential to doing his job well, and why he believes most people are still only using AI to draft emails and summarize documents, missing what it can really do.

His conclusion: technology will keep changing finance, but great businesses are still built by great people.
