Grant Spotlight: Sincere Foundation recently awarded a grant to OUT MetroWest to support their free programs, safe spaces, mental health resources, food pantry, and gender-affirming clothing closet. Each year, OUT MetroWest serves more than 375 LGBTQ+ youth across the MetroWest region. From weekly programs for trans middle and high school youth to opportunities for connection with LGBTQ+ peers, mentors, and clinicians, OUT MetroWest creates spaces where young people can feel safe, seen, and affirmed.

Sincere On-Site Visit: A valuable part of the funder/nonprofit relationship is the opportunity to connect in person, learn about the challenges nonprofits face, and hear how they continue to meet the needs of their communities. Earlier this month Julia Chase traveled to Horizons for Homeless Children in Roxbury, MA to meet with Nancy Shachter, Senior Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, and Tara Spalding, Chief of Advancement & Playspace. After the tour of their early childhood education center, Kate Barrand, President & CEO and Lynne Gaines, Senior Director of Playspace Development & Early Childhood Partnerships, hosted an in-depth conversation about the changing landscape of housing in Massachusetts, Horizons' ongoing advocacy work, and their continued efforts to expand Playspace programs across the shelter system.

Grant Spotlight: Sincere Foundation recently awarded a grant to Regional Environmental Council (REC), an organization that brings people together to build a just food system and healthy, sustainable, and equitable communities in Worcester and beyond.

This grant provides general operating support to connect Worcester-area residents with fresh, affordable, and culturally relevant food while creating opportunities for community connection. It will also assist with their food justice work that includes Community and Mobile Farmers Markets, an 86-site community and school garden network, and YouthGROW, a paid youth employment and leadership program.

Grant Spotlight: Sincere Foundation is honored to support the work of St. Mary's Center for Women and Children, a nonprofit that helps women, children, and families experiencing homelessness achieve lasting stability through shelter, behavioral health care, education, workforce development, and affordable housing.
