Sincere On-Site Visit: A couple of weeks ago, Sincere Foundation Program Manager Julia Chase visited Stacey Daley, Executive Director and Amanda Smith, Development Director at Waltham Fields Community Farm. They walked the grounds to find volunteers planting various crops, stopped by the Learning Center where they were hosting a class of local 4th graders, and popped into the newly built farmstand and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) pickup area. The grant from Sincere Foundation funds their Food Access programs – fresh produce donations to the Waltham YMCA and other local organizations, VegRx produce prescription program, Mobile Outreach Market in downtown Waltham, and subsidized CSA shares.

Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month, Sincere Foundation Program Manager Julia Chase visited MetroWest Mediation Services to meet with Executive Director Seth Izen, Director Li Morrison, Coordinator Elizabeth Peterson, and Specialist Melissa Witham. Julia learned about their Housing Mediation Program, a comprehensive eviction prevention service that helps tenants to apply for rental assistance, connect with resources, and mediate agreements with landlords. We are honored to partner with Metrowest Mediation who has a proven track record of strengthening housing stability in this region.

Last week the Sincere team gathered at HQ to kick off cookout season. We enjoyed a delicious feast of cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and veggie burgers. Huge thanks to Gibbs, who grilled for everyone!

Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month Sincere Foundation Program Manager Julia Chase met with Maureen Winkler-Belger, Foundation Relations Officer at Dignity Matters. Dignity Matters, a two-time Sincere Foundation grant recipient, focuses on ensuring women and girls experiencing homelessness or poverty have free, reliable access to menstrual care and underwear. The warehouse tour featured their collection and sorting area, partner pickup loading zone, and administrative offices.
Dignity Matters is doing tremendous work to fill an often overlooked, invisible need.

Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month, Sincere Foundation Program Manager, Julia Chase, went to Project Bread in East Boston to visit Shannon Healey, Director of Institutional Giving and Ian Isaac, Senior Manager, Foundation Relations. They toured the spacious two-story office including two areas dedicated to their main programming:
☎️ FoodSource Hotline: As the only state-wide, toll-free hotline, counselors help low-income individuals and families enroll in SNAP and connect callers to immediate nutritional resources in their communities.
🍎 Child Nutrition: Project Bread helps kids and teens access healthy food year-round by maximizing participation in school meals and Summer Eats, a program that provides free meals to kids when schools are closed.

Grant Spotlight: Since 1995, Waltham Fields Community Farm has built sustainable relationships between people, their food supply, and the land with programs that expand food access and strengthen community connections. They offer subsidized CSA shares, produce prescription programs, fresh food donations to local organizations, and Mobile Outreach Markets.

We are proud to support Waltham Fields Community Farm in their mission to ensure more neighbors receive healthy, locally grown food.

Sincere On-Site Visit: Last month, Sincere Program Manager Julia Chase visited Beverly Bootstraps to meet with Allison Caffrey, Executive Director & Emily Zango, Development Director. They toured the food pantry, warehouse, classroom and meeting spaces, and robust thrift store. One of the highlights of the tour was the discussion about their new Automated Refrigerated Food Locker program, which offers 24-hour access to pre-ordered groceries at convenient local locations and provides flexibility for varied schedules. Beverly Bootstraps remains committed to addressing hunger and promoting health through a variety of food assistance programs.

In honor of Pride Month, we would like to highlight the work of BAGLY Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth), a recent Sincere Foundation grant recipient. BAGLY is youth-led, adult-supported nonprofit dedicated to the creation of safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. For nearly 50 years, BAGLY has offered advocacy programs, free health services, and leadership opportunities at their Boston Community Center and across Massachusetts. 💜🏳️‍🌈💚
