Are you a talented web developer who’s passionate about user experience and wants to create tools that are simple to use and easy to maintain? Jantcu has been providing digital strategy and technical consulting services to nonprofit organizations for over 6 years. We currently maintain dozens of Drupal and a handful of Wordpress websites, but are always looking for new ways to better serve our clients so we’re making investments in emerging technology, including Jamstack and serverless.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to get in on the ground floor of a small company that has an established client list and sustainable payroll, but is flexible enough to provide considerable growth potential to learn new skills and eventually take a leadership role within our organization. We’re looking for someone with a startup mindset, who’s humble and willing to help outside of a strict job description to further our company goals, and most importantly someone who cares deeply about the clients we serve.
The right candidate will be able to:
- Work autonomously with little oversight
- Handle bug fixes and maintenance tasks using traditional CMS frameworks like Drupal and Wordpress
- Handle the full lifecycle of feature development, from gathering requirements through testing and delivering a product that the client signs off on
- Communicate with clients through email, GitLab issue queue, and phone calls to understand needs and resolve outstanding tickets in a timely manner
- Help think through and architect solutions to challenging technical problems
- Create content for inbound marketing efforts through technical blog posts and video documentation
- Contribute to open source tools and frameworks that our company maintains for the community
- Build dynamic websites using static site generators, continuous integration, and git-backed / headless CMS’s
Desired technical skills: Git, Svelte, Go, PHP, MySQL
Recruiters please do not contact us about this position, we’d only like to speak to qualified individuals directly. The total compensation for this position is $50,000 annually. We offer health insurance, paid time off, and have plans to set up a company sponsored retirement account in the future. Our company is fully remote at the moment, but we sometimes require in-person client meetings in the Boston and Metrowest area of Massachusetts. We also organize several tech groups a couple of nights a month in the Boston area outside of work hours.
We have a strong preference for using and creating open source software, even when it’s hard. We accept your political views, but appreciate if you keep them out of the office. We’re an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and are committed to creating an environment that’s inclusive to all. If you are kind, good at what you do, and are willing to work hard, you’re welcome here!
