Most packaging is static. What if yours could respond?

A label can change color when chilled. Reveal a hidden design in sunlight. React to the warmth of a hand. Glow under blacklight. Or signal that a product has encountered a specific condition.

Specialty inks turn the printed surface into an active part of the product experience.

The best applications go beyond novelty. They reinforce the brand, complement the moment of use and give consumers something meaningful to notice, understand or act on.

What should your packaging reveal, signal or do?

The best label decoration rarely relies on a single embellishment.
Foil catches the light. Embossing adds dimension. Varnish changes how a label feels. Custom shapes and transparent constructions create moments of discovery.

But the real impact comes from how those elements work together.

When materials, print, texture, coatings and shape are planned as one cohesive experience, packaging gains more depth, interaction and reasons to be remembered.

Engineering has always been part of who we are. We've just never told that story as well as we should have.

Not everything we manufacture looks like a label.

For years, Resource Label Group has helped customers solve complex application challenges through durable labels, graphic overlays, membrane switches, nameplates, identification systems, and precision die-cut components. These capabilities have long existed across our organization. They simply haven't had the visibility they deserve.

That's why we've brought them together under RLG Engineered.

RLG Engineered represents the engineering-focused side of our business, making it easier to explore the specialized products, materials, technologies, and manufacturing expertise that support demanding applications across a wide range of industries.

If your perception of Resource Label Group is based primarily on our label capabilities, we invite you to take another look.

RFID is evolving far beyond inventory tracking.

Today, it's helping brands improve item-level visibility, strengthen product authentication, enhance patient access in healthcare, and create more engaging consumer experiences. As the demand for instant information grows, so do the opportunities for connected packaging.

In a recent episode of the UNCAGED podcast, Resource Label Group's Kevin Frydryk, Vice President of Markets & Products, shares his perspective on where RFID is headed and what it means for brands.

If you're interested in RFID, smart packaging, or the future of product identification, it's well worth a listen.

Shrink sleeves create shelf impact that traditional labels often cannot.

With full-container coverage, bold graphics, and compatibility across unique shapes and sizes, shrink sleeves give brands more space to create a distinctive visual experience.

But achieving consistent performance takes more than great design alone.

Film selection, shrink characteristics, seam placement, and application compatibility all influence how the final package performs in production and on shelf.

When considered early in the process, shrink sleeves can help brands improve:
• Shelf presence
• Branding flexibility
• Container differentiation
• Production efficiency

Because packaging that stands out still needs to perform consistently at scale.

We're heading to Foam Expo next week in Novi, Michigan.

Many of today's manufacturing challenges aren't solved by a single component. They require the right combination of materials, converting expertise, and engineering support.

Whether it's precision die-cut components, durable identification products, graphic interfaces, or complex assemblies, we're looking forward to discussing how engineered solutions can help improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.

If you're attending, stop by Booth 2706, June 23–25.

Looking forward to the conversations ahead.

"What does it cost per label?"

It's an important number. But it rarely tells the whole story.

The real cost of a label solution often shows up somewhere else:

• Production disruptions caused by inconsistent performance
• Inventory complexity and SKU proliferation
• Compliance and version control challenges
• Material and adhesive issues that surface in real-world environments

A lower unit price can be easy to measure. The operational impact of a label solution is often much harder to see until it affects production.

The best solutions aren't evaluated on price alone. They're evaluated on how they perform across the entire operation.

Because the real cost of a label solution isn't always on the price sheet.
