Keep in mind that Windows 7 is no longer supported. If you are subject to HIPAA, PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley, CFPB, ALTA III, ISO2700x, or any other major compliance standard then you should not have any windows 7 machines currently connected to your network. Keep in mind that if you are insured against data breach, the insurance company may audit you in the event of a breach. You must show that you have not been careless with your IT security in order to minimize your liability.

Whether you've made the upgrade to Windows 10 or are holding out, you need to know how long Microsoft will provide updates and patches.
