For the last few years I've been heads down building two things: my family and my business.
If you know me, you know my goals have always been ambitious. I've shared ideas over the years that made people wince or shake their heads. Back in the NiCE AND iLL era, people told us we were ahead of our time, and that was before streaming, before Vine, before TikTok.
A lot of projects have been sitting in the queue, but I've been working at them by hand for over a decade and a half, trying to bring these concepts together with real attention to detail, some fun, and a collaborative ecosystem around them. I can finally say many of them are getting close to a finished draft or a testable version 1. Plenty of you have heard about these, and some of you have been part of them. Over the last four years, AI has given me real creative help and saved me a ton of money while I slowly built things in the background.
Here's what I've always been chasing:
đź“– Four books/screenplays I worked on night after night:
• "Paula": my mother never knew her father. After years on Ancestry, I found out he was murdered. The very next year, a Netflix documentary came out, The Skyjacker's Tale, and his killer is still alive today.
• The spread offense and the legendary Freeport football team that redefined football on Long Island.
• Building a brewery: navigating small business and entrepreneurship to land on a brewery that innovated and opened doors to everything else.
• "Son of Dad": my father, his father's legacy, the father I'll be, and what mental health, substance abuse, and a father figure really mean.
📱 Apps:
• 3HundO, a bowling app. When I started we were one of three. I've since seen a dozen others come out, and mine is still unique.
• RigCheck, a simpler way for first responders and volunteers to handle the process of volunteering.
🌳 Gift Grafting: a website idea I pitched for nine years at 1-800-Flowers, where nobody took it seriously. In 2019 I was talking about the emerging use of AI and GPT. Now everyone and their mother thinks they understand it.
🎮 A lacrosse video game: I saw a hole in the market back in 2011 and reached out to a guy I played lax against in college about developing one, but he was already on his way. I kept reaching out, kept sketching concepts, and I've been building something I'd actually want to play using Blender and Unreal Editor. It's finally coming close to a conclusion.
🍺 Alongside all of that: the brewery, more businesses, and consulting for others to help them automate and make change in their own worlds.
🎵 And my first and only solo album. I have over 500 songs and folders I developed from 2001 to 2017. Music was my passion and my life. With NiCE AND iLL we had an opportunity to sell a few songs to major songwriters, and we passed. We made that decision as a team, and we're still sitting on content that isn't being used.
I have all these ideas, all this love and passion, and I don't want it to go to waste. I don't want to wonder whether something I tried or dreamed up could have worked, especially when I now see things I thought of years ago actually working for someone else.
The key is ex*****on. Going forward, Limulus Holdings and OGI Tech will be about ex*****on backed by authenticity, not AI slop.
