DDR4 production is restarting, and not a moment too soon.

Shoutout to anyone who built a high-end DDR5 gaming rig last fall. Your RAM quadrupled in value. Better returns than your 401k!

AI data centers are eating every memory wafer Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix can make. A 32GB DDR5 kit that ran $90 last October now starts at $400+, with popular Corsair and Crucial kits well past that.
Analysts say no relief until 2028. Guess we're heading back to the shop to dig through the old DDR4 drawer.

Back to the (stone) DDR4 age.

Yikes. That's not fuzz, it's years of dust and smoke choking the CPU fan on an older desktop we just tuned up. Overheating, shutdowns, slow performance... it all starts here.

We have been getting calls and have confirmed there is a Astound cable outage since about 1:30 this afternoon. No ETA yet. Looks like Garberville and Redway are offline.
