SkyWire Studio has added a few new features to make drafting faster and easier.

First, you can now use a Manual connection / wire placement mode to define the connection path as you go.

You can also relocate wires easily by clicking on the termination point and dragging to a new point, clicking to complete the new connection.

Rectangle annotations have been introduced for highlighting portions of your drawing - just enable the rectangle tool, click and drag to define the rectangle. They can be resized or rotated.

Analyzing the usage of our SkyWire Studio Pro templates, we’ve found that the single most common LRU used across all files is the Garmin Aviation Garmin GMU-11. Following the GMU-11, the top 10 most installed LRUs is, in order:

• Garmin G5
• Garmin GTN 650/750
• Garmin GTX 3x5
• Garmin GDU 460 (G3X)
• Garmin GMA 345
• Garmin GAD 29
• Garmin GI-275
• Garmin GMC-507 (GFC 500)
• Garmin GSA-28 (GFC 500)

It isn’t until we get to #25 on the most common LRUs that we find the first non-Garmin equipment – the uAvionix AV-30C.

With nearly 1,500 interconnects now created with SkyWire Studio, we can get a rough picture of the general aviation, panel-mounted avionics market based on what our users are building.

We take our user's feedback and feature suggestions seriously; after many requests, we've created the symbol editor - now available in SkyWire Studio. The possibilities are now endless as you can create your own symbols for use in wiring diagrams. The editor supports a variety of shapes, includes a snapping grid for ease of alignment, a 50 square pixel reference guide for optimal symbol sizing, and the ability to manipulate the shape properties to fit your needs. The saved symbols can be kept private to your account, or shared with the community. Once placed in the diagram, they work the same way as any other symbols.
