MISSION STATEMENT: Our mission is to teach senior citizens, with varying degrees of vision loss, to maintain independence through their use of adaptive technology They live in senior living centers or sit at home feeling excluded and powerless not knowing where to obtain or even if there is help available. These seniors citizens were once gainfully employed and successful in raising families but n
ow find themselves having to depend on others to assist them with what were once simple tasks such as reading a newspaper, addressing an envelope, reading instructions on a medicine bottle, using their personal computer. This list is endless for seniors with vision loss and it leaves them feeling overwhelmed and defeated. With Golden Years with Technology we will give one on one training to senior citizens through the use of adaptive technology and provide them the ability to accomplish these tasks again. We are requesting donations to help purchase computers, adaptive software (magnification software, screen reading software) and hardware products for senior citizens with low vision and no vision. All donations will be greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.
