We just rolled out v10.0 of StressLab, our in-house testing suite that every GCF build runs through before it ships - give it a download here! https://sourceforge.net/projects/stresslab/
The full battery of tests takes nearly 6 hours per system because we don't believe in shortcuts. If you've ever wondered what our testing process entails, here's what your future rig is getting put through:
CPU stress - every core hammered to 95%+ load, multi-process integer + float workload, temps logged the whole time
RAM verify - 5 different memory patterns plus their inversions, full address space coverage with VirtualLock to pin it to physical memory (no swap shortcuts)
GPU stress - adaptive raymarching shader that auto-tunes to keep your card pegged at 95%+ utilization
VRAM testing - Vulkan compute-based memory error detection across the full GPU memory pool (catches bad VRAM that causes random crashes in games)
Disk verification - unbuffered write/readback verification with per-block latency tracking, plus a SEQ1M Q8T1 benchmark to confirm your NVMe is hitting rated speeds
PSU + thermal stress mode - runs CPU and GPU simultaneously to verify your power delivery and cooling can handle real gaming loads
π What's new in v10:
π Deep drive diagnostics - reading SMART data the same way CrystalDiskInfo does, so we catch any issues with the SSD's NAND health, controller, firmware version, and total bytes written before the drive even goes in your system. We test brand-new drives because counterfeits and DOA drives do happen.
π PCIe link verification - confirms your GPU is running at full PCIe 4.0 x16 (or 5.0 x16 on newer platforms) and not getting bottlenecked by a bad slot or riser cable. We've caught this on builds before final QC and you would not believe how much performance you lose silently.
π― TBW endurance baseline - we record your drive's host-write counter on day one, so if you ever bring it back for service we can tell exactly how heavily it's been used.
π‘οΈ VRM and SSD temperature monitoring - making sure no component runs hot under load, including the motherboard's voltage regulators (the part that fries first when a board's been pushed too hard)
π οΈ Built-in self-tests on every drive - every SSD gets a short SMART self-test before shipping. Adds a few minutes to QC, catches bad drives that pass benchmarks but have firmware issues.
π Printable test certificate - every PC ships with a timestamped report showing actual measured peak temps, benchmark scores, drive health, and pass/fail across every test. Keep it for your records or warranty claims down the road.
Why this matters for you:
Many "Gaming PC" sellers, even the big-box ones, ship builds straight out of assembly with only a short stress test, if any at all.
We don't. Every GCF rig spends nearly 6 hours under full diagnostic load before it ever leaves our shop, because if it's going to fail, we want it to fail in our shop, not your home.
That's why we can offer the warranty terms we do, and why our financing customers don't get stuck with lemons.
Got questions about a specific build, or want to know what passing scores look like on your dream config? Drop a comment or shoot us a DM - we'd love to configure your dream rig today.
