A product failure can happen in an instant—but understanding exactly how the injury occurred can be critical to the case.

In this product liability matter, a five-gallon glass jug shattered while being carried, sending a sharp fragment into the wrist and causing extensive damage.

MotionLit created a Mechanism-of-Injury Animation to recreate the moment the jug broke, show how the glass contacted the wrist, and visually trace how that contact produced the resulting injuries.

By connecting the product failure, mechanism of injury, and anatomical damage in one sequence, the animation helps attorneys present liability and causation with greater impact.

Show the failure. Explain the mechanism. Connect the injury.

A ceiling-mounted light fixture suddenly falls inside a retail store—striking a shopper below.

MotionLit created an Accident Reconstruction and Mechanism-of-Injury Animation to show how the fixture failed, the path of the falling object, the moment of impact, and how the incident resulted in spinal and shoulder injuries.

By bringing together site evidence, engineering analysis, and medical findings, the animation helped connect the hazard, incident, and resulting injuries in one compelling visual sequence.

Reconstruct the incident. Show the impact. Connect the injuries.

A severe wrist injury can involve far more than what is visible on the surface.

When a large glass water jug shattered, the resulting laceration severed multiple flexor tendons and damaged critical structures responsible for movement, sensation, and blood flow.

MotionLit developed a 3D Surgical Animation showing the injured anatomy and the detailed repair procedure that followed—from suturing the damaged tendons to restoring the ulnar nerve.

The animation created a clear visual connection between the incident, the anatomical damage, and the extensive medical treatment—helping communicate the full damages story for mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial.

Show the injury. Visualize the repair. Tell the complete damages story.

A routine gallbladder surgery became life-threatening when a surgical instrument lacerated the abdominal aorta.

In this medical malpractice case, MotionLit created a 3D surgical animation recreating the trocar insertion from both internal and external views—showing the instrument’s path through the abdominal wall and its relationship to the aorta and surrounding anatomy.

The animation also demonstrated proper technique for comparison, helping the legal team visualize the alleged standard-of-care breach and support expert opinions on liability.

Show the procedure. Clarify the error. Explain the injury.

A devastating parking-lot fall, five surgeries, and an $11 million settlement.

Attorneys from Effres & Effres —Steven Effres, Justin Effres and Evan Effres—teamed up with Nick Rowley, founder of Trial Lawyers for Justice, to represent a 67-year-old woman who suffered a severe arm injury after falling over a concrete wheel stop in a parking lot.

Her treatment ultimately included five elbow surgeries and a rare total elbow replacement.

MotionLit created Surgical Animations for each procedure, helping the legal team visually demonstrate the extent and progression of her treatment, support expert testimony, and give insurance decision-makers a clearer understanding of the damages and potential trial exposure.

When liability and damages are heavily disputed, the right visuals can connect the incident, injury, and treatment into one compelling story.
