I wear many hats as both a Senior Marketing Consultant at Grapevine Local Food Marketing and a farmer.
My favorite hat to wear? Definitely my big straw hat on those perfect 75-degree evenings, harvesting fresh-cut flowers from our Northeast SARE Native Plant Trial Plot. We are in the second year of a Farmer Research project investigating the viability of growing native plants as cut flowers for beginning farmers growing on leased land. As a total native plant nerd, it’s so cool to see the pollinators favor the native plants over the non-native annuals.
I am so grateful for a flexible work schedule so I can remain committed to my professional marketing career, helping farms and food systems orgs grow their impact, simultaneously growing into my life's work of growing food and flowers that support the health of my farm's ecosystem.
