InspectionFire is heading to the New York State Chimney Sweep Guild’s 34th Annual Summer Workshop.

The workshop runs July 23–26, 2026, and we are looking forward to connecting with chimney professionals from across the region.

On Friday afternoon, Daniel Freeman will present:

From Camera to Report: Building a Better Chimney Inspection Workflow

Course 9263 | One-Hour Educational Session

A chimney camera can help an inspector see more—but equipment alone does not create a better inspection.

This class will demonstrate how practical camera-scanning techniques, structured documentation, and a repeatable inspection process can work together to:

-Improve inspection consistency
-Capture clearer and more useful visual evidence
-Reduce missed steps and documentation gaps
-Connect camera footage, photographs, field notes, limitations, and recommendations
-Produce clearer, more professional, and more defensible inspection reports

The session will include practical guidance for using 360-degree chimney cameras and a demonstration of the InspectionFire inspection and reporting workflow. The principles will be useful whether you currently use InspectionFire products or another camera and reporting system.

Fireplace Insert Inspection Reports Must Document More Than the Appliance

Fireplace inserts complicate inspections as they conceal key components of the original fireplace system. Effective reports must document the insert's details, original fireplace conditions, and any limitations caused by visibility issues. Clear reporting distinguishes between what was observed, what was inaccessible, and underscores the importance of further evaluations necessary for safety and compliance....
