A "Backup" Isn't a Security Plan

If your backup is just a hard drive on a shelf, you’re one ransomware attack away from a total shutdown. 🛑 In Western Colorado, we’re upgrading our partners to EDS (Essential Defense Suite). It’s not just a copy of your files, it is a 24/7 shield.
🛡️SOC & EDR: Real humans watching your network for threats in real-time.
🛡️MFA & ITDR: Locking the digital front door so only your team gets in.

Don't just back up, defend.

Tech That Notices "Weird"🤡

Humans are busy; software is relentless. Behavioral Analysis tech notices when a computer starts acting "weird"—like accessing files at 3 AM—before a human ever could. Is your tech watching for the "weird"?

📅 Let’s look at behavioral defense: https://commwestcorp.com/contact-us/

☁️☁️ "It’s in the Cloud, So It's Safe," Right?

Think again! The biggest mistake people make is assuming that tech giants like Google or Microsoft are automatically protecting all your files.

👀Look at it this way: They build the digital "apartment building" and make sure the front gate is locked. But you are still responsible for locking the door to your own apartment and deciding who gets a key. If you don't secure your own files and data, hackers can still get in.

That’s why you need extra security layers to monitor your devices and block threats.

🔒 Get the ultimate lock for your digital door with our Essential Defense Suite.

Ever get that "gut feeling" something is just slightly off? 🧐

In the world of cybersecurity, not every threat comes with a loud alarm. Some of the most dangerous risks are what we call "Unwelcome Guests"—attackers who stay quiet, move slowly, and spend months learning your habits without ever breaking a window.

At CommWest, we believe your peace of mind shouldn't depend on a hunch. We recently helped a new client on the Western Slope uncover a threat that had been hiding for four months! With the right tools, we were able to find the "ghost in the machine" and neutralize it immediately.

We love keeping our community safe and informed. Has your business ever experienced a tech "glitch" that turned out to be something more?

Stop cyber-criminals from ghosting your professional relationships! 🚫

Phishing attacks are on the rise, and clients are more cautious than ever. If your emails look "fishy," your hard work might end up in the trash—or worse, the spam folder.

Here is how to prove you’re a pro and keep your clients’ trust:
1. Be Upfront About Links 🔗
Never drop a naked link. Explain exactly where it goes so your client feels safe clicking.
❌Bad: "Click here: [Link]"
✅Good: "I am including a link to our official pricing page on our website here: [Link]"

2. Use Professional File Types 📄
Stick to **PDFs** or **JPGs** for final documents.
⁉️Why? Sending editable Word or Excel files looks unfinished and allows for accidental changes.
🛡️Security: Word docs can hide "macros" (malicious code). A PDF is a "frozen," professional version of your work.

3. Announce Your Attachments 📎
Surprise downloads are a major red flag. Always give your client a heads-up.
👀Example:"I have attached the signed contract as a PDF file to this email for your records."

4. Match Your Name and Email 👤
Consistency equals legitimacy. If your email is `[email protected]` but you sign off as `Rebecca`, it triggers alarm bells. Ensure your **"From" name**, **email address**, and **signature** all match perfectly.

5. Check Your "From" Name 📛
Does your display name show up as "Admin" or a string of numbers? Change it to your actual name or business name immediately. If they don't recognize the sender, they won't open the mail.

Pro-Tip:Trust is built in the details. Use these simple rules to protect your brand and your clients! 🛡️

🛡️ The Blueprint for Staff Confidence

True operational security relies on a workforce that possesses the confidence to pause and question everything they see in their inbox. It only takes five seconds of thought for one person to stand between a routine morning and a spreading digital fire that threatens your entire reputation. By empowering your team with the tools to identify threats, you’re turning your greatest vulnerability into your strongest line of defense.

❓How much confidence do you have in your human firewall?

The "AI Polish" ✨

The days of spotting a phishing email by its bad grammar are over. Hackers are using AI to craft perfect, professional-grade lures. If it looks "too real," it might be. Can your team spot a scam that has no typos?
