I get a lot of questions about what the process actually looks like — so here's the honest version.

It starts with a conversation. Not a pitch, just a real discussion about where you are and where you're trying to go. From there, we move into strategy before anything is designed. What you're selling, who you're speaking to, and what you want people to feel when they land on your site.

Design comes next — presented in rounds, refined until it's right. Then your website comes together: layout, copy direction, photography, all of it aligned.

By the end, you have a brand and a site that feel like you — and can actually do the work of attracting the clients you want.

The timeline varies by project, but the intention is always the same: thoughtful, strategic, and worth the investment.

Your first website got you here.

Your second website needs to take you further.

If you're outgrowing your platform—whether it's loading slow, limiting your design vision, or just doesn't reflect where your business is headed—it might be time to switch.

Here's what to consider for your second website:

Showit is for creatives who want complete design control. No templates feel generic anymore. Every pixel is intentional. If you're ready to invest in a site that looks nothing like anyone else's, this is it.

Shopify is for product-based businesses ready to scale. Clean checkout, powerful inventory management, built for growth. If you're moving from Etsy or Squarespace to a full ecommerce operation, this is your platform.

Your second website isn't about what's trendy. It's about what supports the business you're building.

Tired of inquiries from people who can't afford your services?

Your website is probably attracting them.

When your site doesn't clearly communicate your level of investment, you get inquiries from everyone—including people who will never book.

Here's how to filter for the clients who are actually ready to invest.

Be clear about your investment level. "Investment begins at $X" immediately filters. People outside your range self-select out.

Show your process in detail. High-value clients appreciate thoroughness. Budget clients want quick and cheap.

Curate your portfolio strategically. Only show the work you want more of. Elevated work attracts elevated clients.

Use sophisticated design and language. Your website's aesthetic signals your price point.

Require a discovery call. Serious clients will take the time. Price shoppers won't.

Your website should pre-qualify clients before they ever reach out.

A beautiful website and a website that books clients are not the same thing.

I've seen stunning sites with empty inquiry forms. And straightforward, well-structured sites that convert consistently. The difference is almost never aesthetics.

It's strategy. Knowing who you're talking to. Knowing what they need to feel before they'll trust you enough to reach out. And building the site around that — not around what looks impressive.

This is why every project I take on starts with a conversation, not a canvas. The design follows the strategy. Always.

If your site looks right but isn't performing, I'd start with a Website Audit. Get in touch and let's take a look.

Clocked in: building brands and websites, homemade lattes fueling my day, true crime playlists and a new Bravo obsession (thanks to ) in the background, and endless color inspiration

Clocked out: Friday lunch dates, chasing the littles, needlepointing, dream boat shopping, and weekly visits to my favorite nurseries

A look at what's been coming out of the studio lately.

Brand and web projects, each one built around the business behind it. Different industries, different directions — but the same intention in every one.

Still so grateful for the work I get to do!

If you've been thinking about a refresh, link in bio has the details.

There's usually a moment when you know.

You go to share your website link and you hesitate. Not because anything is technically wrong, but because you've grown and the site hasn't followed. What's there still works — it just no longer feels like you.

That gap tends to grow on its own. Services evolve, the caliber of your work shifts, your ideal client changes. The website stays the same.

If any of the signs in this carousel felt familiar, a Website Audit is a good place to start. It's a clear look at what's working, what isn't, and where to focus. Get in touch if you'd like to learn more.

Thankful for a year of growth. A year of struggles. A year of wonderful clients and opportunities. Another year of chasing my dreams.

This year has pushed me as a designer, as a mom, as a business owner… and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings for S&S.
