Satellite + Laser to transmit data from space to earth 🌎

Starlink performs around 500Mbps down 50Mbps up with less than 10ms latency. Now the MIT scientists tested Laser to Earth transmission over 2Tbps!! I know it is just in testing but the promise of ubiquitous communication anywhere is going to be a reality by 2030!

A small satellite developed by MIT engineers has set a new record for data transmission between a satellite and Earth. The TeraByte InfraRed Delivery (TBIRD) system used a laser to beam huge amounts of data at up to 100 gigabits per second (Gbps).
