NEMR is proud to work with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) to bring grant opportunities to local organizations making a difference in our communities.

The 2026 FRS Community Grant Program offers grants of up to $5,000 for projects that enhance quality of life in rural America. Eligible projects should focus on one or more of the following areas:

📚 Education & Workforce
💼 Business & Economic Development
❤️ Health & Well-being
🚒 Public Service & First Responders

Projects must benefit communities served by NEMR and be non-profit, educational, or community-based in nature.

📅 Interested organizations need to submit applications to NEMR by August 21, 2026.

Please join us in welcoming our 2026 Summer Construction Interns, Hayden Courtney and Easton McDonald! 👷‍♂️

Hayden is a recent graduate of Milan High School and the son of Jeff and Megan Courtney of Milan. This fall, he will attend the University of Central Missouri. In his spare time, Hayden enjoys golfing, fishing, and hunting. Hayden says, “I am ready to work and learn new things over the summer.”

Easton McDonald, son of Aaron and Andrea McDonald of Green City, is returning for his second summer internship with NEMR after working with us last year. Easton graduated from Green City High School in 2025 and is currently attending State Tech. Like Hayden, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing. Easton says, “I am really excited to get the opportunity to learn and get better in the fiber optic field.”

Throughout the summer, Hayden and Easton will be working alongside our construction crews, gaining hands-on experience and learning more about the fiber optic industry. We are excited to have them on the team and look forward to seeing all they accomplish this summer. Please help us give them a warm NEMR welcome! ⭐
