We're back!!!!!
Hey guys! What a summer! As some of you guys know, the ACBR team spent the entire summer moving our operations across the country! ACBR HQ is now in beautiful Greensboro, North Carolina. Our new shop is up and running, and We're shipping our robots out the door! We're so excited to see what our awesome students across the county will do with our bots this school year. We have a ton of new products and awesome open source robots coming to the shop, and tons of new tutorials coming to our youtube channel, so keep an eye out for more coming soon!

Ha! Oh no! Ok, so I walk into my robotics lab this morning to get ready for classes and I find that two of my printers had this message! Was it a prank? Was someone really trapped?? I couldn't believe it! Anyone else out there with makerbot printers see something similar over the weekend?

Haha, I was working in the shop fullfilling robotics kits this afternoon when I noticed that we're only around 25 people shy of having 1000 subscribers on our YouTube channel! I couldn't believe it! So I just thought I'd share a quick post here in case any of you guys out there weren't aware we even had a channel! Be sure to subscribe if you feel like keeping up to date on our tutorials!

This is Bob Barboza, and he wants to build the first school on Mars with the Barboza Space Center! In partnering with organizations like NASA, SpaceX he just might do it, and ACBR robots are going with him! Right now they're in the process of building a flight school / robotics training program in this hangar out in an airport here in Souther California. We've been working on this paternship for a long time, and it's exciting to see his program grow!

The weather is getting warmer, and we thought it was the perfect time to test out one of our secret projects! I have students all the time who would way rather be out skating, then in doors learning about robots, and so this project is for them!

So much about education is meeting students where they are, and listening to their interests. This is the (almost) final draft of our open source programmable skateboard computer! I think we're going to make the gyro color changing software a little more sensitive, and I think we're going to add more ws2812's, but its coming along! We'll be releasing the firmware, and hardware files as soon as we think it's ready for prime time!

Haha, our packaging revamp is complete! The laser cut open cell foam was the final piece of the puzzle! We managed to fit each component into its own personal layer, the controller, the main circuit board, the charger, the batteries, the tools, and hardware, everything you need to get started having a blast building robots in a neat 8x8 package. Remember, anyone can build robots!

Haha, we had a blast with our weekend robotics classes . Even when your code doesn't go quote as planned, you learn a ton! We still have spots open for our spring break classes, drop us a line if you have any questions or are interested in signing up!

We may not be quite as fast as Amazon, haha but were getting there! We package each and every robotics kit with the care. We just finished redesigning our packaging system to increase our efficiency a little bit! Thanks to our vacuum former custom plastic inserts are pretty quick and easy to produce! The next step is finalizing some lasercut poly foam inserts to finish things off and make some awesome protective packaging for our Rover!

I have a ton of fun running ACBR, but I also love teaching robotics! I still teach robotics full time at and love every minute of it! It has been a crazy year, and it looks like next week we'll have students back in the classroom! I had a ton of fun yesterday working with my team to try and get their robot ready to compete! We've been virtual all year, so it's going to be tough, but I'm sure these guys can pull it off! Software, mechanics, 3D modeling, electronics, there is so much you can learn through robotics! Have a great weekend makers!
