Meet Dexter 🐾, a Pitt Friends foster fail, and a perfect example of what rescues do best.
Pitt Friends has worked to save dogs from shelters, giving them a comfortable place to heal and grow. That's exactly how Dexter came into the life of Emily. She started out fostering him, planning to find him his forever home... and ended up being it.
Even though Emily's not actively fostering these days, she and Dexter stay involved through Doggy Day Outs, community events like the Canine Crawl and Farmers Market, and cheering on the mission every chance they get.
Dedicated foster volunteers care for every dog who comes through Pitt Friends, so by the time they're ready for adoption, they're happy, healthy, and well-socialized. And when a foster gets adopted, it means another dog can be pulled from the shelter into care. It's a win-win, one rescue at a time.
Thinking about fostering? You might just end up like Emily!
