Mac computer viruses are real. I've heard of some viruses in the past like the infamous ransomware, which is pretty devastating to your personal files without a backup.

Recently i worked on a Macbook Air that had an adware virus called the MegaBackup virus. It basically embeds ads and makes popups. This is the first Mac virus i've seen in the wild. Luckily the removal process is fairly standard, terminate the process and remove the traces. This virus was contracted by visiting a sketchy streaming site to watch live events.

Was checking out the specs on the new Microsoft Office 2016 and realized that students can get a free copy of Office 365 or better. So i tried out my old Chico State email and it worked, and can be installed on up to 5 devices. I've always known about these channels but never really looked into them until now. Check your school website for eligibility.

Here's the support life cycles for Windows OS, mainstream support has already ended for Windows 7, but i believe it's still a viable operating system with adequate security and solid performance on most hardware. Windows 7 will stick around just as XP has done til this day.
