I often get asked about classes for learning about computers. The Aberdeen Public Library has them twice a week. If asked maybe they have a list of what is being taught at each one. This might be very helpful for those wishing to learn more.

Has your NVC email lately had many emails that look like they are from them? Well, If you open the email and look at the email address you will see that they are a scam. They want your email password and then from there they can hack and change passwords on other accounts you use including your bank. If you have mistakenly clicked on one of these emails, please call NVC and have them change your password. And remember, never click on links in your email unless you are absolutely sure or expecting it. Stay safe, lots of scams!

Please keep a password book! If you upgrade your computer, it sure does make life easier! Write everything down even the answers to your security questions. You can buy a password book or use an address book or even a small notebook. Anything! Keeping your passwords all in one place and up-to-date. So if you change a password, be sure to update your book. If something happens to you, this will also make life easier for your family! Start one today! And if you don't know a password, it may need to be changed anyway so you can enter it in your book. Also, be sure to use different passwords on each site and make sure each one is unique!

With our world changing every so quickly to use technology, how many of you haven't really used your computer for a while? Children will be needing them for school and if your computer is old and outdated, it can be frustrating. Call me and let's get your computer cleaned up and working well for the next phase of world changes. This year when you are out buying a new calendar also buy an address book or small notebook. Why? Address Books make great password keeper books to put in a safe place. And if you already know your passwords because you use the same one for everything, that is bad. We all hate this extra security but unfortunately we have to have it in this day and age. Also, another reason for a password book is none of us know when we are going to die and your kids or family may need those passwords to close accounts etc... Once you get a book, please keep it up-to-date and write everything down when setting up a new account, even the date you set it up. Happy New Year and make your resolution to use good secure passwords this year!

Another great Halloween Trunk or Treat at the Groton UMC. Kay's Computing gave away hotdogs for the 4th year in a row now! What fun and so thankful for Linda Thurston and Vickie Ham helping me make this possible this year. 240 hotdogs in 1 1/2 hours! Next year I think we need a few more... Thank you everyone for coming and making this a very fun event!

Great trip to California this past weekend. Enjoyed touring Facebook, Intel Museum with the story of making chips, and the Computer History Museum. I have stuff they should add to their old collections! Great time seeing Alex & Stephanie! Also went to Muir Woods, the Beach, and Golden Gate Bridge. AND it was great weather!!
