The people have spoken.

They want restaurant menus ON the actual restaurant website. Not on a FB page that's unmanaged and outdated. Not on a QR code that they have to scan with their phone that they're currently using.

On. The. Website.

And we get it โ€” you're busy actually running the restaurant. Who has time to update menus, manage SEO, fix broken pages, improve mobile speed, and make sure your website is actually bringing people through the door?

We do.

When you have a free moment, reach out. We're really good at what we do โ€” and we'd love to help you focus on what matters most: running your business.

This is a must-see. Now open at the Hampton University Museum

Picturing Freedom: Harriet Tubman and the Combahee River Raid brings together photographs, paintings, sculpture, and film to tell the story of one of history's most extraordinary acts of liberation โ€” when Harriet Tubman led soldiers to free more than 700 enslaved people in a single night.

The exhibition includes the Hampton University Museum's iconic Harriet Tubman Series by Jacob Lawrence and is inspired by Dr. Edda Fields-Black's 2025 Pulitzer Prize-winning book. Powerful, important, and right here in our backyard.

Thereโ€™s something so โœจ powerful โœจ about women coming together to share stories, wisdom, challenges, and encouragement. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of our president, Claire, for speaking at the EmpowerHER Womenโ€™s Conference last weekend alongside so many inspiring leaders in our community. And even more meaningful that she gave such a beautiful testimony to her mother Jan Miller, the original visionary behind Mellen Street Creative. โ˜บ๏ธ Claire's close friend, Aimee Gooch, a true Hampton Roads powerhouse of her own, proudly attended the event as well in support and loving recognition of her friends and community.

Events like this remind us that empowerment isnโ€™t just about personal success; itโ€™s about opening doors, lifting others up, sharing knowledge, and building stronger communities together.

Thank you to Southeastern Virginia Health System for creating a space that celebrates purpose, leadership, confidence, and connection among women across . โœจ

Some publications inform their readers. This one connects them to something larger than themselves. The Hampton University Alumni Magazine lands in the hands of graduates who left the yard years โ€” sometimes decades โ€” ago. Doctors, executives, educators, veterans, artists. People who built careers and families and communities, but who share something that never leaves them.

Hampton made them who they are.
Every issue has to be worthy of that.

A cover has roughly three seconds to stop someone who already loves this institution. The design has to meet that loyalty with something that feels equally serious.

โ–ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐’๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐
Editorial design for a community that earned its story. Inside every issue: alumni who went on to lead, innovate, and serve. Our job is to design pages that honor the weight of those lives โ€” not just lay out text and images, but create an experience that feels like coming home.

โ–ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ
Publication design at this level isnโ€™t templated. Every typographic choice, every margin, every photograph selection is deliberate. Because the people reading this notice. And they deserve to.

โ–ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ
Thirty years. One standard. Our relationship with Hampton University spans decades of publications, websites, exhibits, and environmental design. Because institutions with this kind of history donโ€™t need a vendor. They need a partner who understands whatโ€™s at stake.

โ–ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ˆ๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง
Every alumni association has a story. Not every one has a publication worthy of it.

If your institution is ready to invest in print that your community will keep, share, and feel proud to hold โ€” we should talk.

Some stories just hit different.

We're sharing this one from our friends at Youth Sailing Virginia because it's rooted right here in our community โ€” not to mention Hampton University holds a very special place in our hearts.

Tyler came up through YSV's sailing program, earned his degree at HU, and never stopped giving back along the way. That's the kind of full-circle story worth celebrating.

Congratulations, Tyler!

What a week โ€” and what a month. Our President Claire Bellecci has been all over Hampton Roads lately, and we love to see it. ๐Ÿ’™

Earlier this month, Claire volunteered at the Soundscapes Virginia Community Music Festival at the Ferguson Center for the Arts, where young musicians performed under the theme "We Are America's Story" โ€” and later that week attended the Stronger Together Benefit Concert at The Vanguard in Hampton to cheer on Soundscapes student musicians and enjoy an incredible night of live music.

Yesterday she joined the Rotary of Newport News to hear Scott Martin of the Fort Monroe Authority present the Fort Monroe Landscape Action Plan โ€” a vision for the fort's future as a walkable, bikeable, nature-forward green oasis that honors its remarkable history while creating something beautiful for generations to come. With landscape architecture firm Hargreaves Jones at the helm, the future of Fort Monroe is genuinely exciting.

And today? Out at TWICS STEM Day representing Youth Sailing Virginia, Inc. alongside fellow board members Alan Bomar (thanks for delivering, rigging, and picking up the pram!) Alan Witt, Rose Hobart, and YSV Sailing Instructor Tyler Brown โ€” connecting the next generation of Hampton Roads students with sailing as a gateway to science, technology, engineering, and math.

This is what community looks like. We are proud to call Hampton Roads home.

Sailing Virginia, Inc. has been nominated for Vote for a Cause, a community-driven contest awarding $17,500 to local organizations making a real impact.

Theyโ€™re changing lives on and off the water, and now they need your support.

Partnerships are more than just strategy sessions, project check-ins, and performance reviews.

Theyโ€™re thoughtful surprises (like these adorable goodies sent to the office!) that show appreciation for our work. Theyโ€™re invitations to events that remind us weโ€™re part of something biggerโ€”part of our partnersโ€™ success. Theyโ€™re meaningful, ongoing connections that help us grow together in ways that benefit everyone involved.

Weโ€™re always grateful for the partners who make what we do so rewarding.

This morning at Peake Childhood Center. ๐Ÿ’™

Leaders like former Hampton Mayor, Donnie Tuck, and former Newport News Mayor, Dr. McKinley Price, community members, and young voices came together with one shared purpose: to invest in brighter futures. And believe us, it was a real tearjerker!

The students passed out fans with a super cool digital lighting element that displayed โ€œPeake is growingโ€ as the fan propelled. We proudly waved our fans to generate strong winds, propelling our youth forward as they sang their beautiful song of hope and growth.

Weโ€™re proud to stand alongside organizations like Peake Childhood Center, supporting their mission and the children they serve every day. ๐Ÿ’š

More than 44,000 employees. Countless hours given back to their communities. One report to tell the story.

Huntington Ingalls Industries doesn't just build ships โ€” their people show up for their neighbors too. This year, Mellen Street Creative had the honor of designing the HII Report to the Community, a publication that captures the remarkable volunteer spirit of one of America's most important defense companies.

There is something deeply meaningful about work like this. The people in these pages aren't just employees โ€” they're coaches, mentors, food bank volunteers, and neighborhood advocates. Our job was to give those stories the design they deserved.
