Our Blue Planet EMEA PMO team recently visited The Cowshed, a local charity in Wokingham, Berkshire, to give back to their local community.

The Cowshed is an amazing charity helping families through difficult economic times, providing anything from clothing to furniture to bath/sanitary products. All items are donated by supermarkets, stores, and the general public – and must be sorted, washed, dried, and ironed by age categories. The furniture is cleaned and assembled to ensure there are no missing parts, then disassembled/packed, and household and sanitary items are organized for easy selection when a family is in need.

By helping process these donations, our volunteers played a small part in ensuring families can access the support they need. Thank you to our volunteers for making a difference!

These are the moments that make an internship at Ciena more than just a summer job!

Recently, our Ottawa interns took to the soccer field and beach volleyball courts for an afternoon of teamwork, friendly competition, and plenty of fun. 🏐 ⚽

The friendships formed, the memories made, and the connections built can last long after the internship ends. That's what helps make the Ciena internship experience so special.

In Bali, Indonesia, members of our APAC Services teams came together for a Build-A-Bike volunteering activity supporting Puspadi Bali, a local organization making a difference for people with disabilities. The bikes assembled by the team will help support mobility and independence for youth in the region.

Through our collaboration with Udayan Care, Ciena has helped enroll more than 1,900 youth in career upskilling programs, awarded 1,780+ professional certifications, and facilitated 1,100+ job placements. On a recent visit to the Manesar Telecom Centre, our team members heard directly from alumni and Udayan Care leaders about the life-changing impact of the program. We're proud to support opportunities that help more young people build meaningful careers in our communities.
