Shout out to our team in the Philippines, who came together with Fostering Education & Environment for Development, Inc. to plant 300 native tree seedlings at the Laguna Quezon Land Grant in support of efforts to restore the Sierra Madre and strengthen climate resilience. Through support of the Ridge to Reef initiative, we’re helping restore ecosystems, support sustainable livelihoods, and protect the forests that protect us 🌱

Our Next at Ciena employee resource group in Manila recently brought cross-functional teams together for a beach cleanup event—giving back to the community, supporting sustainability, and building meaningful new connections along the way. A big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to help protect our environment!

We celebrated Asian Heritage Month across several of our offices throughout May. Our Asian at Ciena employee resource group hosted creative gatherings, celebrating the rich and diverse cultures across Asia, as well as a panel discussion highlighting the innovative work happening in the APJI region.

This year at ITW, we were proud to host another Ciena Cares give back event, this time in support of WOGO. Our team members, alongside more than 30 partners, helped assemble recovery packages for patients who received much needed knee replacement surgeries in developing countries. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this special occasion!

Volunteers from our Blue Planet team recently joined Refuge Network International for a hands-on outreach event in London. The team prepared packed lunches, assembled toiletry kits, and distributed essential supplies for individuals in need. The event also gave volunteers the opportunity to speak directly with people facing hardship and better understand the work Refuge Network is doing in the community. Thank you to everyone who helped organize and support the initiative!
