Today we celebrate freedom, family, and the communities that make our country strong. Wishing everyone a safe and joyful Fourth of July!

As you celebrate, let’s also remember that fireworks can be overwhelming for many autistic children and others with sensory sensitivities. A little kindness, understanding, and planning can make the holiday more enjoyable for everyone.

Whether that means using noise-canceling headphones, creating a quiet space, celebrating with daytime activities, or simply showing patience and compassion, small gestures make a big difference.

Clinical judgment has always been, and will always remain, at the center of autism assessment.

Neurora was never designed to replace that judgment. It was designed to support it.

By capturing and quantifying social communication behaviors during observational autism assessments, Neurora adds an objective layer of behavioral evidence that supports clinical supervision, documentation, quality assurance, and defensibility.

The clinician makes the diagnosis. We simply help strengthen the record.

No single tool in autism diagnostics is 100% accurate. Not a seasoned clinician. Not Neurora.

Accurate diagnosis comes from layers of information, each catching what the others might miss. Think Swiss cheese. Every slice has holes. But layer enough of them together, and you get something more solid.

Neurora is designed to be one of those layers. It fits inside the clinical workflow providers already use and adds objective behavioral measurement (gaze, vocalization, facial movement) to support clinical observation and judgment.

The clinician decides. Neurora simply helps fill in the holes.

Answer: The primary safety mechanism isn't the software or FDA clearance. It's the clinician!

Neurora does not diagnose autism. It captures and measures behavioral data from a clinical interaction. The clinician interprets that information, weighs it against everything else they know about the child, and makes the diagnostic decision.

That has always been our model.

Today, Neurora is being evaluated through supervised research and clinical pilot programs, in which licensed clinicians remain fully responsible for assessment and diagnosis. The ongoing FDA review provides an additional independent evaluation of safety and performance, which is why we're pursuing it.

But the core safeguard remains the same: clinical judgment.

Our goal is not to replace clinicians. It's to give them better tools, better data, and better infrastructure to support the decisions they already make every day.

When we think about brain health, we often think about memory, learning, communication, and connection.

In autism assessment, clinicians look at things like facial expressions, eye contact, vocalizations, and social interactions to better understand how a child experiences and engages with the world. These behaviors are meaningful signals of brain function.

Today, advances in technology are helping us measure these signals more consistently and objectively. When combined with clinical expertise, objective measurement has the potential to strengthen assessments, support better-informed care decisions, and expand access to quality services for more families.

As we recognize Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, we're reminded that every advance in medicine begins with a better understanding of what can be measured. Understanding behavior helps us understand the brain, and better measurement creates new opportunities to improve care across the lifespan.

What if autism evaluations could capture objective behavioral data without changing the assessment itself?

Our research article, "A naturalistic, non-invasive method for capturing biometric data during autism evaluations," is now published in Frontiers.

This publication represents an important step toward bringing objective behavioral measurement into clinical practice while preserving clinician judgment and established standards of care.
