A very good explainer from Microsoft and a wake-up call that everyone needs to run their updates frequently (I do it daily). In Windows or macOS you need to do Chrome updates manually: go to Chrome->About Chrome in macOS or hit the three dots at top right and click Help->About Chrome in Windows. Most apps work similarly and you should be checking these frequently.
