We were proud to join Carlisle 4 Kids and help local children get ready for a healthy, successful school year!

Our team at Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania provided vision screenings for 134 children, with 29 referred for additional vision care. That means more than 1 in 5 children screened may benefit from follow-up care.

We also shared 466 eye-safety coloring books, 466 pairs of sunglasses, and 300 vision-resource brochures with families.

A big thank you to Carlisle 4 Kids for bringing our community together and giving us the opportunity to help kids start the school year seeing their best! 💜

Healthy vision helps children learn, play, and grow with confidence. Simple habits like regular eye exams, UV protection, healthy screen time, and good nutrition can help support lifelong eye health.

We had a wonderful time at Healthy Kids Day last weekend at Hoffer Park in the Borough of Middletown!

Treassa, our Director of Services, and Sue Gebhart, our Senior Prevention Specialist, enjoyed connecting with families, sharing resources, and introducing community members to the services Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania provides. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello and learn more about our programs. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a fun, family-focused event and look forward to seeing you at future community events!

We were honored to welcome Carmen Witmer from Senator Dawn Keefer's office to Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania for a tour of our agency and an overview of the programs and services we provide throughout our community.

Legislative visits like these are invaluable. They give policymakers and their staff the opportunity to see firsthand how our services empower individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise disabled to live independently, gain employment, and stay connected to their communities. These conversations help build understanding, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the voices of the people we serve are represented when important decisions are made.
