Visits from former patients are always a special occasion at LifeFlight of Maine, but the recent meeting with Captain Scott Baxter was especially meaningful. Captain Baxter is with Farmington Fire Rescue and was transported by LifeFlight after the explosion in Farmington in September 2019. He was then transported by LifeFlight again in December of that year due to additional complications from his injuries.

Captain Baxter recently made a generous donation to the LifeFlight Foundation in appreciation of the critical care and transport he received. The LifeFlight crew from the second transport (including pilot Dustin Smiley, flight nurse Kevin Barry, and flight paramedics Greg Millken and Stephen Leavins) welcomed Captain Baxter and his sister to the Bangor hangar where they received a tour of the base, checked out the LifeFlight aircraft, learned more about the operation, and expressed gratitude to the crews who provided his care.

We are grateful for Captain Baxter's generosity and willingness to support LifeFlight, ensuring that others around the state will receive the same high-quality critical care and transport for years to come.
