One phishing trick I hate: an email says you need to “install a viewer” to open a file. A lot of the time, that viewer is really remote-control software. Huntress MDR and Windows Defender help catch threats, but the best first move is still stopping before you install anything from an email.

“We have backups” is only half an answer. The real question is whether anyone has restored from them lately. We use backup tools like Veeam, Altaro, CrashPlan, and Wasabi, but the part that matters is proving your files can come back when you need them.

Common mistake we see in small offices around Hattiesburg: Windows updates get postponed until "later" for weeks. That leaves known security holes open, so we use Atera RMM to monitor machines and automate patching before it turns into a fire drill. If your update plan is "when someone remembers," it needs tightening.

I’m looking to add a technician to the team at Hub Tech Solutions and EasyVoIP.

I’m not necessarily looking for the person with a list of certifications or degree. I’d rather find someone who enjoys solving problems, wants to learn, and is looking for an opportunity to grow.

This role is a mix of:

* Windows and Microsoft 365 support
* Networking and WiFi
* UniFi deployments
* VoIP Phone Systems
* Onsite and remote support
* Project work
* Structured cabling and installations

Some days we’re troubleshooting a workstation. Some days we’re deploying a phone system. Some days we’re building out an entirely new network.

What I’m really looking for is somebody who wants more than just a job. I want someone who wants to grow their technical skills, take on more responsibility over time, and help build something.

No degree required. Real-world experience, work ethic, aptitude , and a willingness to learn are worth far more to me.
